Fond of Jessica Alba but lukewarm on Leighton Meester?
Make a trade.
The actresses, along with the likes of Adam Brody, Kristen Bell, Hayden Panettiere, Scarlett Johannson, Giovanni Ribisi, Nick Cannon and Eva Mendes, are all to be featured on baseball-style trading cards.
The PopCardz series will include stats such as the celeb’s favorite song, book, food, even their fears. “I’m afraid of the dark,” admits Jessica Biel on the back of her card.
Benefiting charities like The Art of Elysium and Multiple Sclerosis Research Center of New York, the cards, which run about three dollars per pack of five, will launch the first week of November. Select retailers will be listed on popcardz.com.
Adds Biel: “When I was a child these types of cards were geared towards the boys, so it is refreshing to see that PopCardz will appeal to both boys and girls.”

On-screen, she’s every guy’s fantasy, but in real life Eva Mendes says she’s a girl’s girl.
“I don’t understand women who don’t like being with the girls,” the actress, 34, tells Marie Claire for its September issue. “They say they’d rather be with the guys all the time? That it’s just so much easier? I’m calling bull—- on that.”
After starring alongside such leading men as Will Smith, Joaquin Phoenix and Denzel Washington, Mendes says her upcoming role in The Women was a welcome change.
“Every morning I got up and thought, ‘I’m going to see Annette %26#91;Bening%26#93; today, I need to make sure she thinks I look cute,’” says Mendes. “Jada %26#91;Pinkett Smith%26#93;’s gonna be cute. Meg %26#91;Ryan%26#93;’s gonna be cute. I’d better be cute. I’m sure I sound like a ditz saying this, but it’s a girl thing. A timeless, ageless, ethnicity-less girl thing.”
After spending several weeks in rehab, Eva Mendes says she’s “taking a break and having a good time” by exercising and being with her family.
“The sun’s out again. It’s my time,” she told PEOPLE on Tuesday at a luncheon co-hosted by Fresh Cosmetics and the new clothing line Rose at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.
At the event, Mendes, 34, squeezed into a Rose-designed dress - which she described as “chic” and “a little edgy” - with the help of adhesive tape, joking, “I didn’t want to take too much of a chance” on a wardrobe malfunction.
“I’m actually taking advantage of my time off,” she says. “You know, I had a film that was pushed, so I’m home spending time with my family, going to the gym and actually enjoying taking care of myself …. This year has been great for me because I’ve learned how to relax. The last three years have been amazing but kind of crazy. So I don’t know, I feel grounded. I feel really good.”
“I’m getting a lot of love in the love department, too,” adds Mendes, who is in a longtime relationship with producer George Gargurevich.
Earlier this year, the actress entered Utah’s Cirque Lodge - the same facility where Lindsay Lohan sought treatment - for what her rep called “outside professional support” for “some personal issues.”
• Eva Mendes, shading herself from the sun -and stepping out for some food in Hollywood.
• Natalie Portman, roaring with laughter on the
roof deck at Cabo Cantina in Venice Beach, Calif. Sporting no makeup, the
actress stood in contrast to her male companion with his shoulder-length
black hair, black clothes and “guyliner,” according to an onlooker. As her
pal told stories, Portman would tilt her head back and let out enormous
laughs, causing other patrons to turn and look.
• Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and
daughter Suri, standing up and singing along at the House of
Blues’ Gospel Brunch in West Hollywood. There to celebrate Easter with
Cruise’s sister and mother, the family wore all cream and shared a long,
communal table in front of the stage. An onlooker tells us that Suri clapped
to the music as Holmes danced along with her daughter, - though the
onlooker adds, “Suri was the total center of attention.”
• Goldie Hawn, snacking on pretzels and drinking beer
backstage at the Black Crowes’ show at the Wiltern in Los Angeles. There to
support her ex-son-in-law, the actress was joined by her main man, Kurt Russell. And the two worked the dressing room, chatting up all the
band’s friends and guests.
• JC Chasez, rocking out to his friend A.J. McLean’s solo show at West Hollywood’s Roxy. Chasez nodded his head,
tossed back a drink and sat on the top of a couch while taking in the
12-song show - and an onstage shout-out from McLean.
• Thandie Newton, sipping champagne and dancing under the
stars at Les Deux in Hollywood. There to celebrate her film Run,
Fat Boy, Run, the actress was joined by costar Simon Pegg and
David Schwimmer, who directed the comedy. The former Friend happily
bobbed his head as Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got to Do With It” played
- and later chatted up pal John Krasinski.

After several weeks in rehab, Eva Mendes has left the Cirque Lodge in Utah - but will be back.
“Eva is attending to some personal business in Los Angeles and intends to return to complete her treatment shortly,” the actress’s rep said in a statement Thursday.
Friday, when it was announced that Mendes, 33, was in the Utah facility, where Lindsay Lohan was also treated, her spokesperson told PEOPLE, “Eva has been working hard for the past year and made a positive decision to take some much-needed time off to proactively attend to some personal issues that, while not critical, she felt deserved some outside professional support.”
