After postponing a string of tour dates because of migraines earlier this month, is back - and thanking fans for their support.

“I want to thank you for all your messages and all your love and support when I wasn’t feeling very well,” the singer said in a YouTube video shot by her boyfriend Jermaine Dupri before her show in Houston Tuesday. “I’m a lot better now.”

Jackson, 42, also showed her silly side: After pretending to put rouge on Dupri’s cheek as he sat in her makeup chair, she dismissed rumors that the two had split.

“Baby, they say you broke up with me because I threw up on you,” a laughing Dupri said as he held the camera.

“How lame is that?” Jackson deadpanned. “Because you threw up on me … Well, there’s no real love there, is it?”

Janet Jackson Kicks Off Tour to Raves

Sep 11, 2008 Author: admin | Filed under: Janet Jackson

Janet Jackson Kicks Off Tour to Raves Nearly two decades after Rhythm Nation, got back into the groove.

The singer, 42, suffered no wardrobe malfunctions Wednesday, on the first stop of her North American Rock Witchu Tour at the GM Palace in Vancouver. Amid multiple costume changes, Jackson performed 30 hit songs, including “Control,” “Let’s Wait Awhile” and “Rhythm Nation.”

Jackson got rave reviews. The show was a “reminder that she is a trend-setter in her own right, a true diva, and a marvelous performer,” said the Vancouver Sun.

But “The most memorable moment of the show,” writes Marsha Lederman of Canada’s Globe and Mail, “came when Jackson, dressed in a gold and black glam hip hop-inspired track suit (and one gold glove) … listened to the crowd roar its approval and became emotional - really emotional. We’re talking tears. ‘Thank you,’ she said, seeming to really mean it, as she waved her hands, begging the audience to stop.”

The Live Nation-produced tour hits the U.S. on Saturday in Oakland, Calif., and includes stops in Los Angeles, Dallas, Washington D.C., New York and Atlanta.

Janet Jackson%26#39;s %26#39;Wardrobe Malfunction%26#39; FCC Fine Tossed

One of the most infamous moments in Super Bowl history may have seen bear a lot of flesh - but that doesn’t mean CBS ought to bear a big financial burden, a three-judge panel has ruled.

A federal appeals court in Philadelphia on Monday tossed out the $550,000 that the Federal Communications Commission levied against CBS Corp. for the 2004 nationally televised halftime show that introduced the phrase “wardrobe malfunction” to the world. The court said the FCC had acted “arbitrarily and capriciously.”

Some 90 million Americans were watching when ripped off part of Jackon’s bustier as he sang, “Gonna have you naked by the end of this song.”

Janet Jackson Opens Up about Label Woes

Janet Jackson Opens Up about Label Woes | Janet Jackson Though says she’s “so excited to be able to hit the stage again” on her upcoming North American tour, she’s less than thrilled about her struggles with her label, Island Records.

“I’m trying to figure out a way to say this, but just to say it and to be quite honest, they just stopped all promotion whatsoever on the album so I don’t think you’re going to hear another single off this album,” Jackson told the hip-hop Web site SOHH.com. Island released Jackson’s latest album, Discipline, in February.

“It was definitely in my heart to go to Europe and to support this album,” she said. But “it’s about teamwork, it’s not something I can totally do on my own. Unfortunately, things have turned out the way that they have with the differences between the label and myself.”

“It feels great, there is no anxiety,” Jackson said. “I have great friends that always give me so much support and so much love and to be able to feel that night after night … I’ll just be on top of the world.”

An Island Def Jam spokesperson told Billboard that the company “has nothing to do with Janet’s tour” and said of the company’s approach to promoting the album: “Unfortunately we haven’t experienced the results we would have liked with this new album. But we respect and support Janet.”

“Feedback,” the first single off Discipline, which has sold 392,000 copies in the United States according to Billboard.com, reached No. 39 on Billboard’s Hot R%26B Hip-Hop Songs chart.

Note: People.com previously misreported the cancellation of Jackson’s European tour. Her publicist says that overseas dates have yet to be announced.
