It’s double the baby joy for Jennifer Lopez and husband Marc Anthony: They’re the proud new parents of twins, a boy and a girl, Lopez’s manager tells PEOPLE exclusively.
The babies were born early Friday in Long Island, N.Y. The girl was born at 12:12 a.m. and weighed 5 lbs. 7 oz., and the boy followed at 12:23 a.m., weighing 6 lbs.
“Jennifer and Marc are delighted, thrilled and over the moon,” Lopez’s manager Simon Fields tells PEOPLE exclusively.

Longtime friend Leah Remini calls Lopez “a born mom” and very nurturing. “With our daughter, she’s so great. I mean, lets her go in her closet and play with her coats or her jewelry. She’s just so giving and loving,” Remini said.
Lopez announced her pregnancy Nov. 8, telling the crowd during her final Miami concert: “Marc and I are expecting a baby!” The news of twins was finally confirmed by Lopez’s dad earlier this month, in an interview on Spanish-language television.
During the early weeks of her pregnancy, Lopez skillfully ducked the question, even when appearing on TV in October with Diane Sawyer and with David Letterman.
Lopez shrugged off the secrecy, telling Harper’s Bazaar, “I kind of feel like everybody knew anyway. I was on tour with a bubble gut!”
And being tight lipped has long been Lopez’s style. When she married Anthony in June 2004, her rep would neither confirm nor deny the nuptials had taken place.
What are not being kept secret are Lopez’s plans now that she’s a mother. As she told Harper’s, the hard-working performer intends to take time off.
“Once I did the tour,” she said, “I really just wanted to shut it down, and since then I’ve had to do three things, including a video. It may not sound like a lot, but you know, as this point, any woman can sympathize. It is a lot. I was ready just to sit.”
Will Jennifer Lopez have to take the stand?
Almost nine years after Sean Diddy Combs was involved in a nightclub shooting, his then-girlfriend, Lopez, might have to recall that experience in a court of law.
The New York Post reports that Lopez, who was at the club with Combs the night of the shooting, was subpoenaed and asked to tell “all she knows.”
Natania Reuben, a woman who was shot in the face at Club New York on Dec. 27, 1999, is suing Combs and rapper Jamal “Shyne” Barrow for $130 million in damages.
Combs’s rep had no comment on the lawsuit. Lopez’s rep could not be reached for comment.
Lopez’s romance with Combs ended in 2001. She married Marc Anthony in 2004 and gave birth to fraternal twins Max and Emme on February 22.
Jennifer Lopez made graduation day very special for a lucky group of Staten Island, New York, elementary school students Tuesday.
The star dropped into P.S. 37, a school for autistic children, on Tuesday, where she performed “Let’s Get Loud” for a group of eight 10- and 11-year-olds, the Associated Press reports.
Teacher Kathy Amati told the AP that after her students saw a video of the song, they wanted to watch it every day, learn the lyrics, and practice Lopez’s dance moves.
Inspired, they wrote letters to Lopez, who was so charmed that she decided to come to their graduation.
Call her Jenny on the Hill.
Jennifer Lopez met with Barack Obama’s staff this week as she toured Washington to talk about issues close to her heart.
“Tuesday afternoon, Ms. Lopez was on the Hill with her sister to meet
with staff members of several senators to discuss issues she is
interested in, such as health care and education,” her rep says. “She did visit Obama’s office, but the senator was not there. She did not meet him, but did discuss health care with members of his staff.”
“She just came in for the meeting and departed,” says the spokesman. He adds: “It was not campaign-related.”
Jennifer Lopez is in “mommy mode” and loving it, husband Marc Anthony says.
“She’s such an amazing mom and I’m so proud of her. She’s such a gem to watch,” singer Anthony told The Billy Bush Show Thursday.
The couple’s “big and gorgeous” twins, Max and Emme, were born Feb. 22 by a Caesarean section, and are cared for by Lopez, 38, and hubby- without the help of a nanny, Anthony, 39, revealed.
Anthony, who is touring the country for a campaign against childhood obesity, added that Lopez has three movies lined up and is eager to go back to work, but “the babies have been a blessing all the way around and she’s just amazing.”
