Jessica Alba’s newest role is that of a mother, but she’ll also be something more for her new daughter, a former costar says.

“She’ll be really attentive and really strong and she’ll be a great role model,” actress Rosario Dawson told PEOPLE at the Cinevegas Honorees Reception in Las Vegas on Friday. “She’s very smart and I like that about her.”

Dawson, who starred in Sin City with Alba and was being honored at the movie festival with the “Half Life” award, said she has already congratulated the new mother, and called Honor Marie Warren “a beautiful little girl.”

“I don’t know what people think about her on the outside or what their impression is, but Jessica is very strong and a very powerful woman,” says Dawson.

As for who will rule with an iron fist, Dawson says, “She’ll probably be the disciplinarian more than Cash. I can definitely see that.”

NBA star Baron Davis, who has known Cash Warren since childhood, says he was ecstatic to meet his friend’s newborn daughter with wife Jessica Alba.

“Oh, I couldn’t wait to see them after the baby was born,” Davis, who is also Warren’s business partner in Verso entertainment, tells PEOPLE exclusively. “They are the picture-perfect happy family.”

As for who baby Honor Marie takes after, he jokes: “Honor has their looks and my personality. All she did was yell.” Then he adds, “No, seriously, she is a beautiful baby girl. She totally takes after Jessica.”

Jessica Alba’s costars Justin Timberlake and Mike Myers in The Love Guru showered the new mom with well-wishes Monday.

“Congratulations Jessica!” said Timberlake at a press day in L.A. for the comedy. “She seems very patient, and I would assume that’s what it takes to be a good mother, a good parent for that matter.”

Alba, 27, and her husband Cash Warren, 31, welcomed daughter Honor Marie Warren on Saturday in Los Angeles.

“She’ll be a great mother,” adds Myers. “She’s smart, she’s talented and she’s one of the most down-to-earth people I’ve ever worked with.”

And Guru costar Romany Malco says, “I would see her as being the type of mom who’s hip, hot, and at the same time very stern.”

Jessica Alba has passed on her natural beauty to 3-day-old Honor Marie Warren, according to the star’s brother, Josh.

“She is gorgeous. She looks just like my sister,” Josh Alba told E! News of his newborn niece. “Jessica did everything natural … It went really well.”

Born June 7 in Los Angeles, Honor Marie is the first child for Alba, 27, and husband Cash Warren, 31.

In recent months, Alba has been in full nesting mode, and now that the baby is here, the Alba family couldn’t be happier.

“We are all just ecstatic,” Josh said. “She definitely looks like an Alba to me.”

Honor Marie Warren was born June 7 in Los Angeles, her rep, Brad Cafarelli, confirms. This is the couple’s first child.

The actress recently did some last-minute shopping for baby gear at Bel Bambini on Robertson Boulevard in Los Angeles, picking up items such as Born Free baby bottles and a Boppy pillow for breastfeeding.

“She seemed relaxed,” says a source, “and ready to welcome home her baby.”

As for the kind of parent she plans to be, the actress recently told Fit Pregnancy that she’ll walk the line between tough and nurturing. “I don’t want to be my child’s best friend. I want to be a mom,” she said. “But I do want my child to come to me when they have problems and need to talk, so it’s going to be about treading that line.”
