Tony Romo: Jessica Simpson Is On My iPod

Looks like Dallas Cowboys star Tony Romo is a fan in more ways than one.

At the American Century Championship Celebrity Golf Tournament in Lake Tahoe on Wednesday, where Romo played for charity, PEOPLE asked him for his top three iPod picks.

Romo named Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing,” (which he serenaded Simpson with during a night out recently”] ), and Guns N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child of Mine.”

As for his final pick, the football star said with a blush and a smile: “Something by .”

birthday celebration (actual birthday: July 10) at the Key

Club in West Hollywood with beau Tony Romo and pal Vivica A. Fox. Simpson got a treat when the NFL star belted out Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” after his

old friends Steel Panther - formerly known as the band Metal Skool, whom Simpson and Romo joined onstage in

January - tossed him a mic.

And while Romo may not be known for his pipes, he isn’t shy about

sharing them. “He sings that one all the time,” the club’s night manager, Mark “Skip” Buccola, told us. Also in the audience: Matt Leinart, who hung in VIP with his friends.

• Call it a mini-Dancing with the Stars reunion -sort of. Both Joey Fatone and Cheryl Burke headed to West

Hollywood’s Villa for the

lounge’s weekly karaoke night. Burke never sang, but she did cheer on fellow

club-goers who took a turn at the mic. Fatone eventually hit the stage,

though, reprising the

rather salty “F- Her Gently” by Tenacious D, earning cheers and laughs

from the crowd.

Jessica Simpson & Tony Romo: Metal Heads

Jessica Simpson %26 Tony Romo: Metal Heads | Jessica Simpson, Tony Romo and Tony Romo had a low-key (but big-haired) night out on the town in West Hollywood on Monday.

The singer and the football star, accompanied by four other friends, hit the Key Club for the hard-rocking Metal Skool Night. The pair were seated in the VIP section, protected by a bodyguard.

But they were sweetly affectionate, according to an observer, who said Romo wrapped his arm around Simpson and rested his head on her shoulder. She, in turn, playfully rubbed her forehead on his cheek. (Awwww.) At one point, the pair also hopped onstage to rock out with the band.

Perhaps bread sticks soothe nerves?

, 27, met beau Tony Romo’s parents on June 27, when all of them had dinner at an Olive Garden in Janesville, Wisc.

Romo, 28, who grew up in nearby Burlington, was home to play in a golf tournament.

But making a reservation at the Olive Garden surprised even the restaurant’s general manager. “We thought it was a big joke,” said Doug Belfanz. “’s not going to the Olive Garden in Janesville, Wisconsin!”

Yep, actually, she did. Simpson, wearing a casual blouse and blue jeans, walked in holding hands with Romo, who wore a T-shirt and baseball cap.

“She scooted up next to him during the meal,” says Belfanz. “They were acting like a couple.”

After dinner, they posed for a photo with the staff and signed autographs. Sneaking out through the kitchen, Simpson complimented the chefs on the meal.

“They were laughing,” Belfanz says. “It was just a big family being out.”

Tony Romo should keep his day job.

The Dallas Cowboys quarterback sang (or tried to sing) “Take Me Out To the Ball Game” during a Chicago Cubs game on Sunday.

Romo - who had already been booed when he threw out the first pitch - did not further his cause after he invited the crowd at Wrigley Field to sing along. “All right, Chicago. Let me hear ya,” he said before belting out the tune.

But his painful, off-key rendition of the old classic left the crowd hoping that Romo, 28, leaves all future singing gigs to girlfriend , who wasn’t at the game this weekend.

is smitten with her beau Tony Romo, but Wednesday morning, the singer-actress dodged Barbara Walters’s question about impending wedding bells.

“We’ve been together for … seven to almost eight months now,” Simpson, 27, said of the Dallas Cowboys star, 28, on The View, before she performed “Come On Over,” the first single from her upcoming debut country album. “I don’t really know about wedding bells … I still love him, and I’m still with him, so that’s a good sign.”

As for her sister Ashlee, who’s pregnant, Simpson said, “She sent me a picture of her belly. She’s popping, it’s so cute!”

According to a source, the party was “laughing and having a great time.” The group noshed on guacamole, blueberry pomegranate margaritas and a mahi plate. Later in the evening, Simpson linked up with her “mane man,” hairstylist and BFF Ken Paves for a late dinner at Da Silvano, where they ate al fresco with two other people. “It looked like they were having a heart to heart,” a fellow diner tells us of the pals.

Tony Romo Speaks Out About Jessica%26#39;s Dad

Speaking for the first time about reports that Joe Simpson was interfering with his relationship with and his business affairs - and that his parents did not approve of or get along with the Simpson family - Tony Romo released a statement to PEOPLE saying, “It’s all laughable.”

Romo, 28, and Simpson, 27, have been dogged by rumors that her father has been meddling in their nearly seven-month-old courtship.

In his statement, Romo insisted that characterization is “so far from the truth.”

A source also confirmed that Romo’s father, Ramiro, went to the Masters golf tournament in Augusta, Ga., with Joe Simpson earlier this year and “had a great time.”

“Jess was giggling and grabbing onto Tony. They were both very natural and sweet with each other,” says a source. “It was cute to see the sisters and their guys having such a good time.”

Jessica Simpson: I’m Sticking to Country Music

Jun 17, 2008 Author: admin | Filed under: Jessica Simpson

Jessica Simpson: I%26#39;m Sticking to Country Music has gone country - and plans to stay there, the singer tells The Tennessean.

“I’m planning on making country %26#91;music%26#93; for the rest of my life, and I don’t want to go back to that other world,” says Simpson, 27. Her latest foray into the country scene has given Simpson a boost in success - and confidence.

After the breakup of Simpson’s marriage to - and a very public flub of Dolly Parton’s “Nine to Five” at the Kennedy Center Honors in 2006 - Simpson says she was scared to sing onstage.

“I was going through a heartbreak, and I was scattered and shouldn’t have been on that stage,” she tells the newspaper. “There’s no way to convince anybody that you’re comfortable onstage if you’re not.” But after stepping into the studio to record a country song, she declared: “I’m back!”

Simpson says she’s gotten begrudging compliments on the song and has high expectations for her album, due to be released this September. “A lot of people have listened to ‘Come On Over’ and told me, ‘I really wanted to hate it, but I like it,’” she said. ”%26#91;It’s%26#93; a backhanded compliment, but I’m glad it’s that way and not the other way around,”

Adds the singer: “I take a lot of pride in my talent and in the record I was able to put together. I’m not giving up.”
