The Jonas Brothers are burnin’ up the charts.
JoBro fans came out in droves on Tuesday, the day the band’s third album, A Little Bit Longer, was released. Sales for that day alone were estimated at 201,000, according to Billboard. At this rate, the group, made up of brothers Kevin, Joe and Nick, will have their first No. 1 album next week.
“We are just really living the dream right now,” Kevin Jonas told the Associated Press, “and for us, having this album finally hit stores and having %26#91;the fans%26#93; sing the songs, knowing that they can actually hear them and have it in their possession is the most amazing thing for us. We’re so excited.”
The tween sensations spent the week in New York, playing Madison Square Garden, appearing on TRL and dishing about what they look for in girlfriends.
Up next for the brothers is a new show on Disney Channel, J.O.N.A.S.

If you whine or are mean to your mom, forget ever dating one of the Jonas Brothers.
“If they are nagging and annoying, you’re like, ‘Go away,’ ” Joe, 18, told the audience on MTV’s TRL on Wednesday during Jonas Brothers Fan Week - timed to the Tuesday debut of their album A Little Bit Longer Tuesday).
Added older brother Kevin, 20: “We’re not ever really with people, ’cause we’re always traveling. And you get on the phone and they’re like, ‘My day is awful, blah,’ and you’re like, ‘This is not what I need right now!’ ”
In addition to their upcoming Disney Channel series, the brothers could soon be collaborating with Ben Stiller. “We met him just recently,” Joe told TRL. “We were talking with him about doing a movie.”
She won’t confirm rumors that she’s dating Nick Jonas, but Selena Gomez has no problem confirming her passion for the Jonas Brothers’ new album on YouTube.
The Wizards of Waverly Place star, 16 - alongside her co-star, David Henrie - created a YouTube video encouraging fans to buy the Jonas Brothers’ third studio album, A Little Bit Longer, which debuted on Tuesday.
“If you already bought it, buy another one. And if you’ve already bought another one, get another one after that,” Gomez continues, while intermittently humming and singing the album’s first single, “Burning Up,” along with Henrie. The video then cuts to crew members from the Waverly Place set cheering as Gomez implores them to buy the album.
What could be behind the actress’s motivation? A source confirmed to PEOPLE last month that Nick, 15, and Selena have been “dating for months,” but both Gomez’s and the Jonas Brothers’ reps deny a romantic relationship. Nevertheless, Gomez’s persistence appears to be working: After the success of “Burning Up,” their second single, “Tonight,” debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard’s Hot 100.
Kelly Ripa and Christie Brinkley caught Jonas Brothers fever Saturday when the heartthrob boy band performed in East Hampton, N.Y., at a concert benefiting the tony Ross School.
“Kelly and her kids are huge fans,” says a source who attended the $1,500-a-ticket fundraiser.
And how. When the event planner was looking for someone to help raffle off two guitars to raise money for the prestigious school, Ripa immediately stepped forward.
“Kelly said, ‘I’ll do anything for the Jonas Brothers! They have made my kids so happy! And I just want to be onstage to see what it’s like to be a rock star!’”
Also there were newly divorced Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook.
“It was his weekend with the kids so she came to the concert with her son, Jack, a half hour before doors opened and met the band,” said a source. “Then she left and Peter, who brought their daughter, Sailor with him, stayed at the concert with the kids.
Little Miss Sunshine star Abigail Breslin was another fan who couldn’t wait to see her favorite band.
“She is a HUGE fan,” says another source. “She was so excited to be there. She was swarmed by fans afterward who wanted her autograph.”
The feeling was mutual. “The Jonas Brothers wanted a picture of them with her. They are big fans of hers.”
Lindsay Lohan’s little bro, Cody Lohan, wanted a front row seat to see the band and got it. ”hen he came in, he pushed his way up to the front of the stage. Dina kept saying, ‘I lost him!’ Cody was having the best time.”
She may get buzz as “the next Miley,” but Selena Gomez doesn’t want to be a one-girl show.
“I’m going to be in a band - no Selena Gomez stuff,” the Wizards of Waverly Place star, 16, told MTV News. “I’m not going to be a solo artist.”
“I think that I don’t want my name attached to it,” she explained.
“I’ll be singing, and I’m learning drums and playing electric guitar,” she said.
Gomez also promises a different sound than her Disney peers - and not just for artistic reasons.
“You know, the %26#91;Jonas%26#93; boys and people like Demi %26#91;Lovato%26#93; are my friends, so I definitely would not copy or do anything that they did,” she said.
As for Gomez’s relationship with Nick Jonas, the pair recently went for some platonic PDA: They gave each other a big hug at the Teen Choice Awards on Tuesday night.
The Jonas Brothers are lending their star power to a cause close to their hearts.
The band has partnered with Bayer Diabetes Care to offer encouragement to young people with diabetes and spread awareness about the disease, with which Nick was diagnosed at age 13.
“I thought, ‘Why me?’ I didn’t know how to handle it,” Nick Jonas, 15, told PEOPLE at a press conference in New York Wednesday. The pop star was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in November 2005, after experiencing sudden weight loss and behavioral changes.
“I didn’t know anyone with diabetes,” said Nick. “There was no familiar face in music or sports that I could connect with … %26#91;but%26#93; I started to see it as an opportunity to be an inspiration to a generation that doesn’t openly talk about having diabetes and not feeling embarrassed by the disease.”
The message Nick hopes to share with others? “To be able to live my dream by being in a band shows that anything is possible,” he said. “Even if you have diabetes.”
The Jonas Brothers, action heroes? Just call them Bonds - James Bonds.
The video for “Burning Up,” their first single from their upcoming CD A Little Bit Longer , debuted today with a bang - literally.
In the video, Nick Jonas fights bad guys and dodges danger as a James Bond-style villain while Kevin does kung fu and Joe sports a mustache playing a Miami Vice clone.
Even the group’s bodyguard, Rob, is in on the act - grabbing the microphone and rapping a few lines as the group sings poolside.
A Little Bit Longer debuts August 12th and the trio’s made-for-TV movie, Camp Rock premieres Friday night on the Disney channel.
Their single from the Camp Rock soundtrack, “Play My Music,” is currently the sixth most downloaded song on iTunes.
Taylor Hicks is used to being the object of adoring fans - but when the Jonas Brothers made a TV appearance in New York, the American Idol swapped roles.
Hicks, who is currently starring in Grease on Broadway, couldn’t resist partaking in Jonas Brothers mania with thousands of other fans outside of the Live With Regis %26 Kelly studios in New York City Thursday morning, he told PEOPLE.
“Once I arrived and saw all the Jonas Brothers fans, I got in on the screaming. We were all having a great time out there,” said Hicks, who grabbed a sign from a fan and proudly held it up when the band arrived for the show. “We were all just being fans and that’s a cool thing.”
“What they do is awesome because it gets kids into music,” said Hicks who was at the ABC studio to tape a performance of “Beauty School Dropout” for the show’s Broadway Week celebration, to air on Friday.
“They are a classy act,” he added, noting that Nick is his favorite Jonas Brother because “he’s the leader of the band.”
Sadly, Hicks didn’t get to bond with the guys. “I just saw them in passing. They’ve got some pretty heavy security.”
In addition to starring on Broadway, Hicks is busy recording his second album, which he hopes to release in the fall. “I love New York. I’m working on Broadway and it’s a great way for me to get my feet wet in acting and a great way to season yourself as a performer,” he said. “I’ve been able to breathe more as a songwriter, having the time and being able to find the right songs.”
They’ve melted many a girl’s heart in the United States. Now those brothers by the name of Jonas are in the U.K. and are blogging about it.
On their official MySpace page the musical trio write: “We just got off stage from our first concert in Glasgow. People in Scotland already knew our music. They made us feel wonderful. It is fun to go back in our memory to when it was new in America.”
With the surprising level of security that greeted the brothers at their recent White House visit, plus praise from Oprah - and now with fans camped out to see them in the U.K. - could the Jonas Brothers possibly get any bigger?
Still, they remain dedicated to their fans. “This morning we went outside our hotel and found a group of fans waiting so we gave them tickets,” they write.
They even offer a shout-out to tour mate Avril Lavigne. “She has amazing music and we are looking forward to being on tour with her,” they wrote just after arriving in Glasgow.
And despite their busy tour schedule, the guys made sure to squeeze in a few quality movie theater hours. “Iron Man was amazing!” they write.
They’ll tour with Lavigne through June and will continue on with their own “Burning Up Tour’ in Canada starting July 5.
The Jonas Brothers have a not-so-secret weapon for coping with a hectic schedule: caffeine!
“I have an energy drink when I wake up and a coffee when I eat breakfast,” Nick Jonas tells Teen magazine in its summer issue. But that’s
not all. “Then %26#91;I have%26#93; a coffee at dinner and an energy drink right before I go onstage. Then I’m good.”
And no wonder Jonas needs the boost: He and his brothers - Joe and Kevin - have a slate of upcoming projects in the works. After touring
with Miley Cyrus and Avril Lavigne earlier in the year, the rocking trio are preparing for Camp
Rock, their made-for-TV musical, which will air on the Disney Channel on June 20. In it, Joe says he gets to play a world-weary rocker named Shane
Gray. But despite his band’s success, the middle brother says he’s not really like his character.
grounded. We don’t take advantage of everything we get.”
Also on the Jonas Brothers’ docket: a new Disney Channels series called J.O.N.A.S! (Junior Operatives Networking as Spies), in which they
play spies whose hide their identities by playing in a band. (The brothers’ youngest sibling, Frankie, is supposed to star in the show as well.) The
band is also focusing on another album of new material.
“%26#91;We’re%26#93; unbelievably excited because we’ve been working on the record for a while,” Kevin says, adding, “We’re all pumped about it.”
