Trick or Treat? For Kate Hudson’s annual costume party at her Pacific Palisades home, it was all treats and costumed celebrities.
The actress’s abode was transformed with pumpkins, spider webs, witches and even severed heads hanging from the trees. In the backyard, “the pool was covered and made into a dance floor,” says a guest.
She was joined in the ghoulish festivities by friends, Leonardo DiCaprio, Courteney Cox-Arquette (as a witch), David Arquette (as a wizard), Cindy Crawford (as Amy Winehouse), Tobey Maguire, Sacha Baron Cohen (as a cow), Isla Fisher, and, of course, mom Goldie Hawn.
The 200 guests partied until about midnight when the local police showed up and urged the group to move inside because of the noise.

• After hanging out at the re-opening of the Burberry store in
Beverly Hills, Kate Hudson and Liv Tyler continued their night together, stopping by Hollywood lounge Bardot.
The actresses - and apparent BFFs - grabbed a table in the back
room, where jazz burlesque band Big Willie’s performed. Hudson
shared her table with Tyler, and chatted happily with her pal and tablemates
Steve Bing and Baron Davis, who went to school with
Hudson. Hudson did dance to the music, though, singing along and snapping
her fingers to the beat. Tyler danced a little and got chatty with
Ryan Gosling, who was there to deejay. She talked with
the actor by the stairs, then sidled up to the deejay booth later on to
watch him in action.
• Also at Bardot: Justin Long, who arrived at 1 a.m., after
the band finished performing. When the actor walked in, he immediately met
up with Kirsten Dunst and her friends. Long grabbed the
actress’s hand as they walked downstairs, looking like good friends during their mellow evening out.
• Alex Rodriguez took a break from visiting his children in
Miami to check out the city’s club scene. The baseball star hit the
Gansevoort Hotel where he ate dinner at Philippe restaurant with his brother
and two friends, trying “almost everything on the menu,” a source says.
After their meal, the group hit a private cabana at rooftop bar Plunge and smoked some Cuban cigars. Two days later, Rodriguez was at the
clubs again, this time at SET, where he partied into the wee hours.
• Following his yoga session, Orlando Bloom stopped into Kitchen 24 in Hollywood for a cheeseburger.
• Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner and daughter Violet, browsing through the children’s books at
Every Picture Tells a Story gallery on Santa Monica’s Montana Avenue.
• Brody Jenner, dancing at mur.mur, the
underground club at Atlantic City’s Borgata casino resort. With his baseball
hat turned backward, he was flirting up a storm with all the Jersey girls
and smiled broadly as they snapped pictures of him in action.

Trying to sweep Kate Hudson off her feet? Try taking her out for miniature golf - but whatever you do, don’t be boring.
The actress shared some of her best and worst dating moments Monday at a press conference for her new comedy, My Best Friend’s Girl, opening Sept. 19.
“One date, I just left before we even ordered food because the guy was just so deeply boring that it was like, ‘I’m going to just save us from all of this and just leave,’ ” said Hudson, 29, adding that her date “was in banking. I’m not kidding.”
Instead, the actress suggests other ways to get her motor running.
Hudson’s romantic life has been star-studded - she was married to Chris Robinson and has been involved with Owen Wilson and Lance Armstrong. But after a tough day on the job, the actress says it’s her family (including son Ryder, 4) and friends that keep her grounded.
“In order to deal with %26#91;everything%26#93;, I just once again go back to my life at home with my family, my son and my friends,” she said. “It makes everything okay. It makes everything feel more balanced.”

What does Kate Hudson look for in a man?
“My taste is kind of all over the place,” Hudson, 29, who recently split with Lance Armstrong, tells the October issue of Cosmopolitan. “Always has been. I don’t have a specific type.”
Asked whether she would consider marrying again, she says, “Yeah, totally.” Then she adds: “It just depends on the person you meet - if it’s important to them, if it’s important to you.”
“Look - we’re still basically living together! We’ve figured it out,” she tells the magazine. “I mean, obviously nothing’s perfect, but I could never look at %26#91;our divorce%26#93; as a mistake. If anything, it’s the best thing that ever happened to us.”

• Kate Hudson, eating with her little man Ryder,
4, at R+D Kitchen on Santa Monica’s Montana Avenue. The mother-son duo was
especially playful during their meal, a source tells us. After
munching on chicken salad and chatting with friends at a neighboring table,
Hudson had a little fun with Ryder over dessert - dabbing his face with
whipped cream! “She looked relaxed,” a fellow diner says of the actress.
When it was time to go, the two left with Ryder carrying the
leftovers.

• Isla Fisher, taking daughter Olive, 9 months, for a play
date in Beverly Hills’s Coldwater Canyon park after a photo shoot at Smashbox Studios. Olive loved the swings, and

her daughter began to tire, Fisher brought her over to the lawn where the
two read a book.
• Lance Bass threw an Olympics viewing party for 300 of his
friends at his house in the Hollywood Hills. The attire for the evening?
Vintage sportswear, of course. (Think high socks and headbands!) The
revelers even indulged in some athletics of their own, namely beer pong and
a flip cup tournament with multiple teams. Bass and good friend Jamie Lynn Sigler munched on burritos from Chipotle during the bash, which also
drew out Heidi Montag and J.C. Chasez. If the
games weren’t enough, the host fully embraced the athletic theme with his
decor: He outfitted his front yard with a big, faux Olympic torch.

• Enrique Iglesias, dining on sushi platters while out with
friends at TAO Las Vegas. The
singer finished dinner off with a visit to the adjoining nightclub, where he
sat at a VIP table on the dancefloor.
• Billy Crudup, screaming and cheering through Lucy Wainwright Roche and Martha Plimpton’s show at New York’s Zipper Factory. The actor partied with the
cast until the tavern next door closed. Also at the show: Mike Myers,
Alicia Witt and Wainwright Roche’s brother, musician Rufus Wainwright.

Kate Hudson may be reluctant to chat about recent romances, but there is one man about whom the star is not shy about gushing - ex-husband Chris Robinson.
“We can talk about Chris till the dogs come home. I married Chris, I had a baby with Chris, Chris will be in my life for the rest of my life,” Hudson, 29, says in the September’s W magazine.
“It’s so hard for me, because I’m so open, to hold back. I could really just go on forever about this stuff,” she says. “But everything else - I’ve learned that things are better left private until you’re actually planning the wedding.”
With turning 30 on her horizon next April, Hudson says, “Am I gonna look back and say, ‘God, I wish I could have gone to that … concert?’ I’d rather be listening to my son sing songs. I’d rather be watching him sleep.”
Here’s to you, Mrs. Robinson: “Almost Famous” Oscar nominee Kate Hudson and her husband, former Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson, have welcomed their first child, a boy.
Ryder Russell Robinson was born Wednesday in Los Angeles, weighing in at 8 lbs. 11 oz., the couple’s publicist said in a statement.
Robinson, 37, and Hudson, 24, the daughter of Goldie Hawn, have been married since 2000. Last summer, the couple announced they were expecting, soon after mama-in-law Hawn, 58, had said, as quoted by PEOPLE: “I would love to be a grandmother. I’m not pushing the matter, but it would be so much fun.”
Hudson had previously hinted at her motivation for becoming a young mom. “I want (children) early enough to really experience my parents young,” she told PEOPLE. “I want my parents to be able to see my kids graduate from high school.”
During the pregnancy, Ryder received an in-the-womb education from Daddy’s rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle. Hudson (to whom Robinson dedicated the song “Katie Dear” on his 2002 release “New Earth Mud”) went on the road with her hubby when he began his solo tour last July. And Hudson took care of her health during the pregnancy — she gave up caffeine and vowed to give up cigarettes.
“I’m on a clean-out thing, kicking habits,” she told PEOPLE, adding that one child may only be the beginning.
“My husband wants a lot,” Hudson said last year. “We’ll see once the first one happens. I have thought about adopting too. I want to experience all that stuff. I definitely want more than two kids. But if I’m tired after two …”
As for Pop’s professional life, Robinson (who left the Crowes in 2001) is reportedly teaming up with Robert and Dean DeLeo and Eric Kretz of Stone Temple Pilots and possibly some former members of Guns N’ Roses to form a new band, the New York Post recently reported.
Kate Hudson will don her dancing shoes as she joins Nicole Kidman in the movie musical Nine, a studio rep confirms.
Hudson, 29, who plays a fashion magazine reporter on assignment in Italy, has musical moves in her genes: mom Goldie Hawn was a go-go dancer on Rowan %26 Martin’s Laugh-In. An original song, “Cinema Italiano,” was added to the film’s lineup for Hudson.
Rob Marshall, who will direct the adaptation of the Tony-winning Broadway musical, calls Hudson’s skills as a singer and dancer “revelatory.”
Her costar is new mom Kidman, who gave birth to daughter Sunday Rose on July 7.
The casting news was first reported by the New York Post.
Lance Armstrong and Kate Hudson have already spent time with each other’s kids. On Tuesday, the couple kept their relationship all in the family by hanging out with her mother.
Casually dressed in a gray Nike T-shirt and matching pants, the cycling champ, along with Hudson and her mom, actress Goldie Hawn, met for a late lunch Tuesday afternoon at Ivy at the Shore in Santa Monica, Calif.
“They looked like they were having a great time and enjoying each other’s company,” says an onlooker. “Goldie was all smiles. Lance was sitting next to her and they were chatting while Kate was laughing. They were all just really happy.”
A tanned Hudson, wearing a long turquoise halter dress, sat on the other side of her beau during the intimate lunch. At the end of the meal, the group left together through the front entrance.
Kate Hudson wouldn’t spill anything about her budding romance with Lance Armstrong to the ladies of The View last week - and the athlete kept his lips sealed when he visited the show as well.
During an appearance Tuesday, Armstrong playfully dodged Barbara Walters’s question about his relationship with the actress, saying, “I know you have to ask that question . . . and it’s my right not to answer it.” Still, he indulged them a little, explaining that he knows why everyone is curious. “When you’re happy about something or proud about something, it’s natural and human nature to talk about it,” Armstrong said, citing an example: “If you don’t eat two bags of potato chips everyday, you’re proud of it.” But when pressed again, he demurred, telling Joy Behar, “No, I’m not going to answer %26#91;the question.%26#93;
Instead, Armstrong and Hudson are letting their public actions speak volumes. On Sunday the pair took their respective children out for a Father’s Day brunch at Frankie’s Spuntino in Brooklyn. Earlier in the weekend, they were spotted in Toronto.
