Katharine McPhee channels her inner sorority girl in her latest video, “I Know What Boys Like,” the first single from The House Bunny soundtrack.
McPhee, 24, puts a twist on the ’80s hit, sashaying in the video alongside sorority sister costars in the film, Emma Stone, Rumer Willis and Kat Dennings. The singer has long had acting ambitions before her Idol fame.
The comedy, which also stars Anna Faris as a Playboy bunny who mentors an awkward sorority, hits theaters Aug. 22.
The film’s cast is set to appear on TRL Wednesday.

Katharine McPhee has always wanted to act - and now she’ll finally get a chance, in a new comedy from Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions.
According to EW.com, McPhee, 23, will costar with Anna Faris in the untitled movie, in which Faris plays a Playboy bunny evicted from Hugh Hefner’s mansion.
She then takes on the role of den mother to the “lamest” sorority at a local college. McPhee will play a member of the sorority.
McPhee has long had acting ambitions: Pre-Idol, she dropped out of the Boston Conservatory during her sophomore year to audition for television pilots in her native L.A. And in January, she had a cameo on ABC’s Ugly Betty.
But she’s got some impressive footsteps in which to follow. Fellow Idol alum Fantasia Barrino is earning raves in Broadway’s The Color Purple, and Jennifer Hudson won an Oscar for her movie debut in last year’s Dreamgirls.
Katharine McPhee gets a hand from her hubby Nick Cokas while taking a stroll during their Hawaiian honeymoon on Monday.
The 23-year-old singer-actress and producer Cokas, 42, were married on Saturday in Beverly Hills before heading to the tropical getaway of Oahu. Romance wasn’t the only thing on McPhee’s mind as she was spotted shopping at the local Gucci store - but they couple did stop for a post-purchase hug.
“%26#91;Nick%26#93; is the love of my life,” McPhee gushed to PEOPLE about her wedding. “This is a once in a lifetime occasion and everything is just perfect.”

After tying the knot last month in Beverly Hills, singer-actress Katharine McPhee shares details in the new, spring issue of InStyle Weddings about the ceremony when she married producer Nick Cokas - and offers advice to other brides.
The American Idol season-five runner-up’s tip: “Remember that it’s your wedding … At the end of the day, it’s really about the expression of commitment in love and marriage. So don’t get too carried away. A wedding is about the commitment of love that you’re making to your partner. It’s that simple.”
So is the look a bride should seek. “Sometimes you look at bridal magazines and you’re like, ‘What is that concoction? Why is her hair piled on top of her head?’ You should look like yourself!”
And be yourself, especially on your honeymoon. Hers was in Hawaii, where she was determined to take up surfing, “I’m not much of a lay-on-the-beach kind of girl,” says McPhee, 23. “I want to be in the ocean.”
Singer-actress Katharine McPhee married producer Nick Cokas on Saturday in Beverly Hills, her rep Justin Gray Stone confirms exclusively to PEOPLE.
The 23-year-old American Idol season five runner-up and Cokas, 42, exchanged vows in a late afternoon ceremony at Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church.
McPhee wore a strapless ivory Manuel Mota gown and Neil Lane jewels (diamond and platinum chandelier earrings and diamond and platinum bracelets), while Cokas wore an Armani tuxedo. Fellow season five Idol contestants Kellie Pickler and Mandisa were among the 305 guests on hand for the nuptials.
McPhee and Cokas met in 2005 when they performed in a Los Angeles theater production of The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. Their union began as a friendship and blossomed when McPhee auditioned for American Idol later that year.
The two quietly got engaged last year when Cokas presented her with a custom-designed round brilliant cut platinum and diamond engagement ring.
McPhee recently wrapped filming the Anna Faris comedy I Know What Boys Like.
