Grandpa Rossdale Says Gavin Sounds Great

It’s baby bliss for new dad Gavin Rossdale - and his London-based family.

Wife , 38, gave birth to their second son, Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale, in Los Angeles Thursday afternoon. (”Mother, baby and family are all happy and healthy,” they said in a statement.)

“It’s very good news,” Gavin’s father, Dr. Douglas Rossdale, told PEOPLE from his London home. “We are very pleased for them.”

The rocker, 42, called his family Thursday night from the hospital. “He sounded great,” said the elder Rossdale. “Very happy.”

Zuma joins older brother Kingston, who turned two in May.
