Reese Witherspoon Wary of Marrying Again

Reese Witherspoon Wary of Marrying Again

Reese Witherspoon, still recovering from her split from Ryan Phillippe, says it’s too soon to think about remarrying.

“There are things in my life that are hard to reconcile, like divorce,” the mother-of-two tells Parade magazine. “Sometimes it is very difficult to make sense of how it could possibly happen. Laying blame is so easy.”

Yet the 32-year-old actress says instead of finding fault, she focuses on moving forward.

“When you make wrong choices, you have to take responsibility for them: ‘What part of this do I own?’” she says. “I struggle to figure out what made me make those choices. All I can hope for is that I’ve learned something from it and won’t make the same choices again.”

“Family is all we have in life, but I don’t know how I feel about marriage,” says the Four Christmases star, who has been dating Jake Gyllenhaal off-and-on since last year. “Obviously, I’m not far enough out of being married to think about doing it again. You sort of reconstitute your family. You find a family with people who come into your life for a reason.”

Britney Spears: I Lost My Way, Myself

Nov 20, 2008 Author: admin | Filed under: Britney Spears

Britney: I Lost My Way, Myself | Britney Spears While advance quotes and video clips from the upcoming MTV documentary Britney: For the Record have been slowly leaking out, on Thursday PEOPLE had an official sneak preview of the revealing chronicle of three months in the life of Britney Spears.

Among what’s in store:

The riveting, 90-minute documentary kicks off at Spears’s home on the morning of the MTV Video Music Awards, with her tank-top-clad dad, Jamie, in the kitchen making his daughter cheese grits (with Velveeta) as she preps for the show. In the kitchen, her manager, Larry Rudolph, proclaims it “the official beginning of the comeback.”

Though Spears says she doesn’t like the word “comeback,” she admits, “I had totally lost my way, lost focus, lost myself.”

Spears takes topics ranging from her failed romances with Justin Timberlake and Kevin Federline (”I never really faced it, and I just ran,” she says of divorcing him) to why she let “bad people” into her life. Her excuse: “Because I was lonely.”

At one point, Spears - whose father has permanent legal conservatorship over her affairs - bursts into tears while discussing her situation. “It’s bad,” she says. “I’m sad.”

Misses the ‘Excitement’

Later, she complains that her life is “too in-control. There’s no excitement. There’s no passion.”

The cameras follow Spears to New York City, where she meets with execs from her record label, goes shopping (she picks out a blouse and calls it “very Katie Holmes”) and sees the Broadway musical In the Heights - all the while being hounded by photographers who she says cramp her style.

“I was a pretty cool chick,” she says, “and I’m really not that way anymore.”

Still, she tries to keep things in perspective. “I think, it could be a lot worse. … People have it a lot worse than I do.”

How does Britney Spears handle everything she’s gone through in life? She dances.

“If I have a lot of nervous energy, when I start dancing it all goes away and I just feel emotion. It’s like a roller coaster,” Spears says in the upcoming MTV documentary Britney: For the Record. “People think that when you go through something in life you have to go to therapy. For me, art is therapy, because it’s like you’re expressing yourself in such a spiritual way.”

Spears, 26, also talks about her 2004-06 marriage to Kevin Federline. “I think I married for the wrong reasons,” she says. “Instead of following my heart and doing something that made me really happy, I just did it for the idea of everything.”

“Sometimes you don’t need to use words to go through what you need to go through. Sometimes it’s an emotion you need to feel when you dance, that you need to touch. And the only thing that can touch it is when you move a certain way.”

Jennifer Aniston Gives Thumbs Down to Facebook

While Jennifer Aniston admits to being technically challenged, she’s still wise to when someone’s secretly snapping her photo.

“My favorite move is when people pretend that they’re on the phone,” Aniston, 39, says in next Sunday’s The New York Times Magazine, “and they kind of dial and take the picture at the same time. You hope they’re doing it for themselves - that they’re not thinking, ‘I’m going to dine out on you.’ ”

Yet the actress also admits to being in awe of the tech-savvy. “I’m really computer illiterate,” she says. “When I see people on their BlackBerrys, working them like some girls work a hairdryer, I’m just stunned. People have sent me clips from FunnyOrDie.com or YouTube, but I never seek it out.”

So don’t expect the Friends star to be friend-ing you on Facebook anytime soon. Asked if she uses the online social network, Aniston replies, “It’s not for me. I’d be opening myself up too much. I don’t want to sound like a complete innocent - I’ve looked at things, of course. But it’s such spewing. If I look at it, I’ll be affected. It’s like dancing with the devil.”

Paris and Benji Split Up | Benji Madden, Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton and Benji Madden’s romance is over.

The pair split a few days ago after more than nine months of dating, a source close to Hilton tells PEOPLE.

“She is saddened by the breakup but they’re just too different and they wanted different things in life,” says a source close to Hilton. “He was loyal and sweet but it was time to take a break.”

Reps for both Hilton and Madden could not be reached for comment.

And on Tuesday night, Hilton and Madden partied separately in L.A. - Hilton danced on top of a couch at Apple Lounge, while Madden was spotted at hotspot Coco de Ville with Nicole Richie, who dates his twin brother Joel Madden.

Both Hilton, 27, and Madden, 29, have recently denied reports that they were unfaithful to each other during their relationship. And just last month, the Good Charlotte guitarist told PEOPLE how happy he and Hilton were.

“I wear my feelings on my sleeve. I’m very open about how in love I am - Paris and I are very happy,” Madden told PEOPLE in October.

Reports: Madonna Reaches Divorce Settlement

Reports: Madonna Reaches Divorce Settlement | Guy Ritchie, Madonna Now it’s really over.

The BBC reports that according to court lists, Madonna and Guy Ritchie will be granted a preliminary divorce decree at the High Court in London on Friday. After six weeks and a day, the divorce would be made final.

The former couple announced they were divorcing in October after almost eight years of marriage.

According to the British press, Madonna, 50, and Ritchie, 40, reached a settlement over money and their kids Lourdes, 12, Rocco, 8, and David, 3. London’s Evening Standard reports that Madonna will keep the bulk of her estimated $500 million fortune intact, though Ritchie was entitled by law to a share of it.

Additionally, Rocco and David will split time between the U.S. and London, while Lourdes, whose father is Carlos Leon, will live with her mother.

“He could have hugely boosted his bank balance and set himself up for life, but he already feels he has enough money,” another pal told the paper. “He also didn’t want the whole thing dragging on in the public gaze for months and months and, in any case, his priority was the children’s future.”

But a source close to the couple insists that’s not true. “He’s going to get a huge windfall, contrary to what’s being reported,” the source tells PEOPLE. “He’s getting a lot of money from the settlement. He’s not the gentleman he’s portraying himself as.”

Madonna and Ritchie were married in 2000, shortly after the birth of their son, Rocco. Since splitting last month, Madonna has been linked with baseball star Alex Rodriguez.

VIDEO: 8-Year-Old’s Shocking Murder Confession

Nov 20, 2008 Author: admin | Filed under: Uncategorized

In the grainy police interrogation video, the 8-year-old boy sits in a big leather chair as he makes a shocking statement: that he shot his father once, then a second time “so he wouldn’t suffer.”

The boy - whose name has not been released - was arrested Nov. 5 in St. Johns, Ariz., and charged with premeditated murder. But the newly-released video of his confession has stirred up a controversy. Experts question whether the third grader’s statement is legal because he was not read his rights and because no parent or guardian was present at the time.

In the interview, the boy initially tells police he found the body of Tim Romans, 39, a boarder who rented a room at his house, and then ran through the building shouting for his father, Vincent Romero, 29, who was lying dead upstairs.

Later, as the officers continue to question his story, the boy confesses to shooting both men.

But some experts say the boy’s words should not be used against him. “The law enforcement conduct in this case is inexplicable: from interrogating a third-grader without the presence of a parent or other adult to releasing an inflammatory videotape before a trial,” legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin told CNN.

While he is currently being held in juvenile jail, the boy will be released for 48 hours starting Nov. 26 to spend Thanksgiving with his mother.

Britney Spears Calls Her Life Worse Than a Jail Sentence | Britney Spears Britney Spears says that since her breakdown, her life has been worse than a jail sentence - but that she’s slowly healing one day at a time.

“I have really good days, and then I have bad days,” the singer, 26, admits in a new fly-on-the wall, 90-minute documentary, Britney: For The Record, to air in the U.S. Nov. 30 on MTV and in the U.K. Dec. 1 on Sky1.

Struggling to gain control of her life again after her public meltdown earlier this year, she says candidly: “Even when you go to jail, y’know, there’s the time when you’re gonna get out. But in this situation, it’s never ending. It’s just like %26#91;the Bill Murray movie%26#93; Groundhog Day.”

Spears was hospitalized for mental evaluation in January, which resulted in her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, being granted sole custody of their sons, Preston and Jayden. Her father, Jamie Spears, also gained legal control over her affairs.

Not Being Heard

“If I wasn’t under the restraints that I’m under right now, I’d feel so liberated,” she says in the film, which follows the singer as she records and promotes her new album Circus. “When I tell them the way I feel, it’s like they hear me, but they’re really not listening.”

A camera crew followed the singer for three months as she moved to pull her life back on track. “I wanted to make this film because I started to feel like I wasn’t being seen in the light that I wanted to be seen in,” Spears said. “This is an opportunity to set the record straight and talk about what I’ve been through and where I’m headed.”

Overall, she says, “I think I’ve learned my lesson now, and enough is enough.”
