New York City’s Carnegie Hall was overflowing with beautiful people as Glamour Magazine held their 2008 Women of the Year Awards last night (November 10).

“Eyes Wide Shut” actress Nicole Kidman and her hunky country crooner hubby Keith Urban looked blissful as they arrived on the red carpet, with Nic sporting a spaghetti strap ivory-colored dress while Keith opted for a dark suit and tie.

Kate Bosworth, who kept it simple-yet-sexy in a sleeveless black and white knee-length dress teamed with a pair of black heels.

Natalie Portman turned her fair share of heads in a girlie black sleeveless dress, while Fergie looked busty in a cleavage-baring white floor-length gown.

Other celebrities gracing the red carpet in serious style included Sarah Michelle Gellar, Taylor Swift, America Ferrera, and former First Lady Hillary Clinton.

Celebrating successful ladies all around the globe, the stars turned up for the Glamour Magazine Honors the 2008 Women of the Year event at Carnegie Hall in New York City on Monday night (November 10).

Among those joining Glamour Editor-in-Chief Cindi Leive were one of this year’s winners, Nicole Kidman, who showed up to the event alongside her country singing hubby Keith Urban.

Natalie Portman, Kate Bosworth, America Ferrera, Taylor Swift, Fergie, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Debra Messing, among many others.

Other winners of at this year’s ceremony included Hillary Clinton and Jane Goodall, as well as “model-turned-talk-show-host Tyra Banks, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, athletes Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh, artist Kara Walker, human rights activists Nujood Ali and Shada Nasser and Chanel CEO Maureen Chiquet.”

According to a company press release, Glamour said the women were all chosen because they have “made unprecedented contributions to the worlds of entertainment, business, sports, fashion, science and politics.”

Having a hit network television sitcom is hard work! And this past week, America Ferrera was spotted on the New York City set of her show “Ugly Betty” putting in some weekend hours.

The “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” cutie looked hilarious as she filmed scenes for an upcoming episode, sporting an awkward yellow wool topcoat overtop a multi-colored silk printed dress with purple stockings, brown boots, an orange scarf, and powder blue gloves.

And despite her alter-ego Betty Suarez’s less-than-attractive appearance, America told press that when people see her in real life, they’re surprised by how good she looks.

She revealed, “I can just walk out in jeans and a T-shirt and people are like, ‘Man, you look good!’ I’m lucky in that respect.” She continued, “It doesn’t take as long as people might think for me to transform into Betty, unfortunately. It’s like 30 minutes now!”

Keeping a low profile as of late, Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson were spotted leaving their New York City hotel on Tuesday night (October 28).

The “Mean Girls” starlet and her British DJ girlfriend were reportedly on the way to club Citrine, where Samantha was lined up to spin the evening away.

In related news, LiLo’s mom, Dina Lohan, recently lashed out at reports of a feud between her daughter and America Ferrera on the set of “Ugly Betty,” telling People magazine that Lindsay “had fun working on the show.”

“It was just silly,” Dina said of the alleged on-set feuding. “America’s a doll. And they said [Lindsay] brought a posse. It was my mother and myself, and [sister] Ali. It was not a posse. We had sushi and no one trashed the room.”

“She had fun on ‘Ugly Betty’. It was long hours and when you’re on a movie set it’s a lot different. She’s not used to television, but it was fun,” Dina adds.

Despite reports of ugliness between Lindsay Lohan and America Ferrera on the set of Ugly Betty, Dina Lohan tells PEOPLE that her daughter “had fun” working on the show.

“It was just silly,” Dina Lohan said of the reports about her daughter battling on-set and off with Ferrara. “America’s a doll. And they said %26#91;Lindsay%26#93; brought a posse. It was my mother and myself, and %26#91;sister%26#93; Ali. It was not a posse. We had sushi and no one trashed the room.”

Dina adds that Lindsay doesn’t know why her six-episode guest stint on the ABC show was cut to four, but says the actress enjoyed her time there. “She had fun on Ugly Betty,” says Dina, who spoke with PEOPLE Monday at Animal Fair magazine’s Halloween Pet Costume Party in New York City. “It was long hours and when you’re on a movie set it’s a lot different. She’s not used to television, but it was fun.”

Adds sister Ali, “We just want Lindsay to be happy. Whatever she is happy doing, we’re happy with.”

Amid rumors of an unpretty rivalry on Ugly Betty between guest star Lindsay Lohan and star America Ferrera, Lohan’s agreed-upon six episodes have been cut to four, Page Six reports.

Reps from both sides, however, insist that everything is fine.

“Lindsay was scheduled for six episodes and is appearing in four but had a lovely time,” a Lohan spokesperson said.

“America is grateful to have had her on the show and thinks everyone should tune in to see how great the episodes are,” Ferrera rep Carrie Byalick said.

Producers of the ABC series tell PEOPLE, “Lindsay wrapped up her arc and is done filming. She did a great job and we enjoyed having her. Viewers can look forward to her episodes tonight and next week.”

According to a production source, Lohan and her people were so destructive that her dressing room had to be repainted. Lohan also refused to go on set before Ferrera did, according to the source.

Trouble erupted after one particular scene in which Ferrera’s character pulls down Lohan’s pants. A Lohan friend told Page Six Ferrera wasn’t supposed to pull down Lohan’s pants because it was a rehearsal. When she did, Lohan, who was only wearing a g-string, was embarrassed to the point of tears.

Lohan’s friend also said that the dressing room might have been wrecked by the cast of another show, and that the so-called entourage consisted of nothing more than Lohan’s manager, assistant, a sober companion and girlfriend Samantha

Ronson.

“America was mean to Lindsay. Producers give her too much power,” Lohan’s pal says. “Lindsay didn’t do the last two episodes because America didn’t like her and got her kicked off.”

If true, the debacle provides a handy retort for the cast of Gossip Girls, which Ferrera recently slammed for conditioning people “to be mean.”

swung by Neil George Salon to dye her hair back from blonde to her natural

brown. “She couldn’t wait to get back to brunette,” a source tells us.

(Swank, of course, colored and cropped her hair for her role as Amelia

Earhart in the biopic Amelia.) In total, the process took about four

hours, and when Swank was finished she snuck out the front door, all bundled

up.

Babies are a frequent topic of conversation among the cast of Ugly Betty. With costar Rebecca Romijn expecting twins and executive producer Salma Hayek a mother to 11-month-old daughter Valentina, cast member Ana Ortiz says she’s feeling the pressure to have a child of her own.

“I really am!” she told PEOPLE Monday at the show’s season-three premiere party at Highbar in New York City. “It’s definitely something that my husband %26#91;musician Noah Lebenzon%26#93; and I talk about all the time.”

Ortiz, 37, even says she’s gotten the most encouragement to start a family from her costar America Ferrera.

Now Ortiz says she’s isn’t worrying about losing her TV gig, and jokes: “I have the most supportive producers, but I would do it, even if they didn’t want me to.”

Whether or not babies are in her immediate future, Ortiz says her onscreen life may include a child. “I think with my character Hilda it’s something that can definitely happen. Just a little more drama for her!”

America Ferrera says TV depicts female friendships in a skewed light.

“Like, if you’re watching The Hills or 90210, all the backstabbing shapes the way we act,” the Seventeen cover girl says in the magazine’s October issue.

“I mean, I love Blake %26#91;Lively%26#93;; she’s a wonderful friend of mine, but shows like Gossip Girl kind of condition us to be mean.”

As her relationship with Samantha Ronson continues to heat up, Lindsay Lohan is taking time out to remember the other special people in her life: her fans.

“I want to thank you all for writing me and being supportive of things that are going on in my life,” the actress, 22, wrote on her MySpace blog Wednesday.

“In 4 days I am back off to NYC to start shooting 3 more episodes of Ugly Betty,” she writes. “The cast of the show is really great and fun to work with and I enjoy shooting in NY.”

In the hit ABC comedy series, Lohan plays a girl who went to high school with of America Ferrera’s Betty Suarez.
