Kate Hudson, while “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star Kim Kardashian kept close to her sister Kourtney and gal pal Kristin Cavallari. Meanwhile, not far away, Kim’s stepbrother Brody Jenner had his hands full with his lovely new girlfriend, Playmate of the Year Jayde Nicole.

Kim Kardashian will be making the transition from reality start to guest star Wednesday, taping an appearance on CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother, a rep for the network tells PEOPLE exclusively.

Kardashian, who was voted off of Dancing with the Stars Oct. 1, will be joining fellow reality stars (and her step-brother Brody Jenner’s former BFF) Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag in the episode, where they will be playing “magazine cover versions of themselves,” according to a show rep.

We’re used to seeing her cavorting around New York City, filming scenes for her new show “The City.” But yesterday Whitney Port was back in Beverly Hills doing some shopping.

The “Hills” babe stopped at an ATM to pull out a little extra spending cash before hitting up some swanky boutiques on her retail therapy romp.

Lauren Conrad was on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” and the late night host had plenty of ammo to fire off at the “Hills” cast.

Of Spencer Pratt, Letterman quipped, “Spencer, what a weasel. He’s just the worst, that guy.” And when it came to Brody Jenner, the “Late Show” host commented, “Let me just tell you something about Brody. If there was no television, this guy would be living in a tree.”

Following an eventful weekend of birthday celebrations, Kim Kardashian was spotted getting back to work in New York City on Monday morning (October 27).

Wearing a funky white and black jacket/shirt combo with jeans and knee-high boots, the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” starlet is in the Big Apple for a long day of meetings before flying out to New Orleans later on tonight.

In New Orleans, Kim will join up with her running back beau Reggie Bush, who’s currently recovering from knee surgery.

After that, it’s back to Los Angeles for some DASH promotions and a full lineup of Halloween parties including Brody Jenner’s big bash!

• Nicole Richie, stepping onto the breezy patio at

West Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont for a night out with friends. The starlet

first stopped to greet a couple who were dining in the corner, then headed

toward her table to meet two male companions.

Sporting a flowing peasant dress and a braided leather headwrap, Richie sat

and sipped on water for much of her low-key evening, sharing what appeared to

be a meeting, but smiling and laughing with her friends nonetheless.

• Ashley Olsen, beating her friends to lunch at

L.A.’s Orso. The actress patiently waited, ordering water until her female

lunch dates arrived. “It was a very mellow lunch with a couple of pals,” a

fellow diner tells us. After her meal, Olsen met up with her beau Justin Bartha for a stroll around town.

• Nicollette Sheridan, getting friendly with David Spade at the opening of Beverly Hills eatery Luau. The newly single

Desperate Housewives actress holed up on the patio with the

funnyman for most of the night after arriving at the opening together. When

checking in, Spade referred to himself as Sheridan’s “plus one.” The two

then settled into their booth and seemed deep in conversation, not so much

flirty, an onlooker describes, but “intimate.” The pair stopped to chat with

the owner and Gary Shandling, but otherwise stayed focused on each

other.

• DJ AM, working hard at Las Vegas’s Pure Nightclub. Just after midnight,

the deejay got behind the turntables, causing clubgoers to roar with

excitement and snap photos of the recovering entertainer.

• Also in Sin City: Katharine McPhee, treating her

dancers to dinner at LAVO inside the Palazzo. In town for a private show,

the group started their evening with plenty of food - including grilled

beef kabob and chocolate bread pudding - before taking their party

upstairs to the nightclub.

• Where else would The Hills hottie Doug Reinhardt celebrate his birthday? West Hollywood’s Coco de Ville, of

course, where his buddy Frankie Delgado is a weekly promoter. The

reality star lived it up for his 24th with Delgado, pal

Brody Jenner and about 20 ladies by his side. The

birthday boy was having a good time, jumping all over the place and getting

friendly with his female guests. He even took off his plaid top by the end

of the night, walking around sans shirt before a huge group of his friends

jumped into a limo to continue the party at Reinhardt’s house.

Enjoying a fun-filled night of clubbing, Jayde Nicole was spotted getting her swerve on at West Hollywood hot spot Coco DeVille last night (October 21).

The Playboy playmate was looking her best, as always, in a short black minidress teamed with a pair of red heels as she provocatively enjoyed a lollipop.

Absent from last night’s festivities was Jayde’s rumored steady Brody Jenner, who recently told press that she was everything he could ask for in a woman and said she was “The One.”

As for the fact that she has nude pics floating around, he commented, “I would have no problem with knowing people can see her nude pics because anybody can look, but to actually be with that person is what counts.”

• After hanging out at the re-opening of the Burberry store in

Beverly Hills, Kate Hudson and Liv Tyler continued their night together, stopping by Hollywood lounge Bardot.

The actresses - and apparent BFFs - grabbed a table in the back

room, where jazz burlesque band Big Willie’s performed. Hudson

shared her table with Tyler, and chatted happily with her pal and tablemates

Steve Bing and Baron Davis, who went to school with

Hudson. Hudson did dance to the music, though, singing along and snapping

her fingers to the beat. Tyler danced a little and got chatty with

Ryan Gosling, who was there to deejay. She talked with

the actor by the stairs, then sidled up to the deejay booth later on to

watch him in action.

• Also at Bardot: Justin Long, who arrived at 1 a.m., after

the band finished performing. When the actor walked in, he immediately met

up with Kirsten Dunst and her friends. Long grabbed the

actress’s hand as they walked downstairs, looking like good friends during their mellow evening out.

• Alex Rodriguez took a break from visiting his children in

Miami to check out the city’s club scene. The baseball star hit the

Gansevoort Hotel where he ate dinner at Philippe restaurant with his brother

and two friends, trying “almost everything on the menu,” a source says.

After their meal, the group hit a private cabana at rooftop bar Plunge and smoked some Cuban cigars. Two days later, Rodriguez was at the

clubs again, this time at SET, where he partied into the wee hours.

• Following his yoga session, Orlando Bloom stopped into Kitchen 24 in Hollywood for a cheeseburger.

• Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner and daughter Violet, browsing through the children’s books at

Every Picture Tells a Story gallery on Santa Monica’s Montana Avenue.

• Brody Jenner, dancing at mur.mur, the

underground club at Atlantic City’s Borgata casino resort. With his baseball

hat turned backward, he was flirting up a storm with all the Jersey girls

and smiled broadly as they snapped pictures of him in action.

friends at RA Sushi in Houston. The singer (and Texas native) “gushed about

how much she loved the food,” a fellow diner says. And talk about a

Texas-sized portion: Simpson and her pals enjoyed the Viva Las Vegas rolls,

spicy tuna sushi, lobster spring rolls, octopus nigiri and pineapple cheese

wontons.

• Penn Badgley, milling about and enjoying the

music at a Grey Goose party celebrating the TV show Iconoclasts inside New York nightspot Kiss %26 Fly. The Gossip Girl cutie got a

Philadelphia for some pre-football food. The rapper-actor ordered steak and

eggs and a lamb sandwich to go, before checking out the Philadelphia Eagles

game.

• Scott Wolf, hanging outside of Izakaya by Katsuya on Third

Street in Los Angeles. The casual actor was waiting for a table

outside with a male friend, and kept his hands in the pockets of his True
