Given her worldwide album sales and strings of sold-out concerts, Rihanna has the power to draw a crowd wherever she goes. And last night she took the stage in Taguig, Philippines to entertain a massive audience.
Over 70,000 fans converged on the Fort Open Field to catch the “Take a Bow” songstress’ performance - and having Chris Brown as an opening act probably didn’t hurt either.
Rihanna opened her super stellar set list with her hit “Disturbia” and appeared onstage in her signature black vinyl dominatrix-style getup, to the delight of the entire crowd.
Her well-rounded set included hits like “Pon de Replay,” “Don’t Stop the Music,” “Take a Bow,” “Shut Up and Drive,” “Good Girl Gone Bad,” and “Hate That I Love You,” ending her show with “Umbrella.”

Continuing along on her overseas tour, Rihanna was spotted leaving Perth International Airport under airport security and police on Wednesday (November 12).
With her traveling partner/beau Chris Brown nowhere to be seen, Rihanna moved as quickly as possible through the terminal - failing to acknowledge lined-up fans.
And though she was rather shy during her airport stop on this particular, it sounds as if there won’t be any shyness when it comes to this holiday season.
Tabloids tell that Rihanna’s R&B star boyfriend reportedly splashed out $1000 on sexy undergarments for his “Umbrella” singing gal on a recent shopping spree.
An onlooker tells The Sun, “Chris was at top Sydney store Ariane Lingerie and purchased a selection of saucy holiday-related items.”

Continuing on their Australian tour, singers/sweethearts Rihanna and Chris Brown were spotted out and about in Perth earlier today (November 11).
Wearing matching red hoodies, the “Take a Bow” songstress and her “Kiss Kiss” crooner were doing their best to avoid the paparazzi along with the help of their beefy security guard.
And yesterday when the People’s Choice Awards announced their nominees for 2009, both Chris and Rihanna were mentioned multiple times.
Together, they’ll be competing in the Favorite Pop Song and Favorite R&B Song category, with Rihanna also vying for the Favorite Female Singer title.
Brown will also be contending for Favorite Male Star, Favorite Combined Forces and Favorite Star 35 & Under. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until January 7th to see the results.

They’ve been enjoying the various Australian activities ever since their tour schedule took them down under. And earlier today (November 10), Rihanna and Chris Brown were both spotted out solo shopping.
Brown looked to be enjoying himself as she made his way to a Carhartt store as well as a local surf shop, doing his best to avoid the paparazzi in his black and yellow checkerboard-inspired getup.
Meanwhile, the “Take a Bow” songstress looked stylish as she browsed a few boutiques, sporting a grey vest overtop a cream-colored tank top with slim fit jeans.
Speaking of Rihanna, contrary to reports that she passed out during a weekend concert, her rep says she just needed to take a breather due to the rising temperatures.
The rep revealed, “It was very hot at the venue, so after Rihanna’s set was over, she went off stage and needed to sit down, catch her breath and have some water. She is perfectly healthy and will be at her show tomorrow.”

Joining up to cast their votes, Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen were spotted dropping by their local polling place in Los Angeles on Tuesday (November 4).
The “Jumper” co-star couple walked side-by-side after casting their ballots, with both previously vocalizing their support for nominee Barack Obama.
previously reported by Gossip Girls, Hayden was spotted out yesterday hard-at-work on the set of his brand new movie “Bone Deep”.
The film, which co-stars Chris Brown and TI, is about “a group of bank robbers finding their $20 million plan interrupted by a hard-boiled detective.”

Looking ever the dapper Hollywood hunk, Hayden Christensen was spotted filming on the set of his new movie, “Bone Deep,” in Los Angeles on Monday (November 3).
Co-starring Paul Walker, Chris Brown and T.I, the film is about “a group of bank robbers finding their $20 million plan interrupted by a hard-boiled detective.”
And “Bone Deep” isn’t the only film lined up for Mr Christensen, as he’s also listed to be starring in “Beast of Bataan” alongside William Hurt.
“Beast of Bataan” is a story that begins “at the end of WW2, with four young military lawyers forced to defend a General from the charge of being responsible of the infamous ‘Bataan Death March’.”

Award-winning singer Alicia Keys might want to clear off some space on her mantel: She was nominated Tuesday morning for five American Music Awards, the most for any artist this year.
Coming in second to Keys are the British quartet Coldplay and veteran rockers the Eagles, with four apiece. Next in line, with three nods each, are rap superstar Lil Wayne and R%26B hit-maker Chris Brown. All five acts are competing for the highest honor: Artist of the Year.
The show will air live on Nov. 23 from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, with Jimmy Kimmel once more emceeing.
Kimmel announced the lucky crop of contenders alongside dancer-chanteuse Julianne Hough and pop star Jesse McCartney.
The show will also feature a star-studded list of performers including the Jonas Brothers, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Ne-Yo, Pink, the Pussycat Dolls and the reunited New Kids on the Block.
Kimmel, however, said unscripted moments are often the most entertaining, like last year when Joe Jonas slipped during his group’s performance.
“You know what, it always makes it more interesting if somebody trips and falls,” says the comic. “So I don’t know, maybe it will be me. Who knows? We’re going to push somebody off the stage this year.”

After the success of their TV movie Camp Rock, the Jonas Brothers are now prepping for their own Disney Channel original series.
“It’s going to be about us as a band but dealing with normal things like trying to take out the trash and not get hounded by fans,” Joe Jonas tells ELLEgirl magazine about the as-yet untitled series. “It’s going to be a funny show, and it’s going to be a great cast.”
The show - originally about the boy band living a double life as spies - has recently undergone a conceptual change. The trio, who just released their third studio album, A Little Bit Longer, told Ryan Seacrest on his KISS-FM radio show that the series will now be more like HBO’s Flight of the Conchords.
It’s more than just the show that is waiting for Joe at home in L.A. The middle Jonas, who recently received a motorcycle with a sidecar as a birthday gift, can’t wait to get back and start taking his brothers for a ride.
“The sidecar’s in Los Angeles,” he said. “When we start filming our television show, we will be setting up the sidecar.”
As for their Video Music Award nomination for video of the year, “%26#91;This%26#93; is huge for us,” said Kevin, 20. “We can’t believe it.”
The VMAs, airing Sunday on MTV, pit the Jonases against Britney Spears, Chris Brown, the Ting Tings and Pussycat Dolls.
• A solo Rihanna, checking out the wares at Fred Segal in Los Angeles. Later she hit popular nightspot Coco de Ville -also sans beau Chris Brown - where she snacked on cotton candy and shared
sweet conversation with friends. But the two got in some couple time the day before: The
singer and Brown were spotted at a Beverly Hills Ferrari dealership together.
• Also at Coco de Ville: Leonardo DiCaprio -but he and the pop star did not cross paths. Instead, the actor shied away
from attention, focusing instead on his small group of friends - and
relaxing. He left the lounge after just an hour.
• Continuing his winning night in Venice - after collecting an award from
last year - Brad Pitt enjoyed a poolside
dinner at the Hotel Cipriani %26 Palazzo Vendramin with his Burn After Reading cast. With no signs of partner-in-crime (and costar)
George Clooney, Pitt chatted with the film’s director
Joel Coen and left before midnight, carrying a drink, sporting an
undone bowtie - and surrounded by an entourage of five.
• In Denver for the Democratic National Convention, new parents Jessica Alba and husband Cash Warren ventured out to a Vote Latino event
at Vinyl. At the reception, the actress, in a black Juicy dress, mixed
politics with girl talk, chatting up Jennifer Lopez and
Rosario Dawson. Meanwhile, Dawson left her boyfriend
Mathieu Schreyer behind in Los Angeles while she got to work to get
out the vote. Not that Dawson - who told us she supports Barack Obama - is telling people how to vote. Nope, next she (and
Vote Latino) will visit Minneapolis, where the group will set up shop at the
Republican National Convention. (Read more about what all the stars are up to in Denver!)

It’s still a week early for the MTV Video Music Awards. But Britney Spears, who is up for three awards - including top honors - has a supporter in the form of hip-hop heavyweight Pharrell Williams.
“She’s made her mark with her career,” Williams told PEOPLE at Wednesday’s Pepsi 500 Running Wide Open party in Hollywood, which he co-hosted. “She’s super-talented. She’s an entertainer.”
Williams, 35, collaborated with Spears on her hits “I’m a Slave 4 U” and “Boys.”
“It was cool, it was fun,” said Williams, who is currently working on new music with Common and Fall Out Boy.
While Williams is rooting for Spears, her musical success does not hinge on success at the awards show, he says.
“I’m not sure %26#91;if she will win%26#93;,” Williams said. “I don’t even know if it really matters whether she wins or not.”
Spears’s live MTV VMA performance of “Gimme More” last year was a notorious disaster. This year, Spears has appeared in taped VMA commercial segments with host Russell Brand, but is not scheduled to perform.
She competes with the Jonas Brothers, Chris Brown, the Pussycat Dolls and the Ting Tings, for video of the year.
