She’s been a staple in the teen/tween entertainment diet ever since her days on “Lizzie McGuire.” And last night Hilary Duff helped say goodbye to another mainstay of young people all over the world - MTV’s Total Request Live.

The “So Yesterday” singer stopped by the “Total Finale Live” shindig at MTV’s Times Square Studios, joining the likes of Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, and Mr. TRL himself, Carson Daly.

And of course, Miss Duff stole the show with her sexy ensemble, sporting a black belted minidress complete with a long black sheer see-through overlay and black heels.

Of her new single “Reach Out” (from her greatest hits album), Hilary told press, “It’s different for me. It’s a little dancey, and there’s a rapper named Prophet who’s on it who’s really cool and kinda fresh.”

Lizzie McGuire is back! Well, not really, but Hilary Duff, the actress who played her on the hit Disney series, is coming back to TV. NBC announced Friday that they’ve signed the actress to a one-year deal to star in her own series as well as appear on some of their current shows.

Variety reports that the star will meet with network writers to “comb through” the network’s development projects to find something she likes.

“Hilary is an incredible versatile talent with a huge following whose career we know will continue to soar on NBC,” says Teri Weinberg, Executive Vice President of NBC Entertainment.

The cute couple was spotted arriving to a hotel in Manhattan, New York on Sunday evening (November 9), with Hilary carrying two puppies in her black bag.

Ready to take care of promotional duties, Hilary is readying for the release of her “Best Of” album - which hits stores on November 11th.

Meanwhile, Comrie and his Islanders team play the Philadelphia Flyers at home on Tuesday before jetting off to Ottawa for a Thursday night match-up.

As for her new single “Reach Out,” it seems the track is garnering quite a response due to the raciness of its video, though a censored version (less thumb-sucking, etc) has also been released to appease the more sensitive viewers.

Miss Duff is most certainly looking forward to next Tuesday, November 11th when her greatest hits album hits stores and online retailers.

Putting her best fashion foot forward on this historic election day, Hilary Duff was spotted out and about with her sister Haylie in Los Angeles, California this afternoon (November 4).

The “War, Inc.” cutie was turning heads left and right as she ran errands in a sexy yellow blouse teamed with a high-waisted black miniskirt and black heels. And she proudly displayed an “I’ve Voted” sticker on her shirt.

The “Foodfight” star looked her usual stylish self in a black top with paint-covered jeans and a cute Burberry scarf.

In related news, Hilary was busy doing charitable work at P.S. 15, Roberto Clemente Elementary School last week, during which she heaped praise on her hockey star beau Mike Comrie.

“I am so thankful for that day that I met him and all the people we’ve gotten to feed together,” Duff tells. “He does special things all the time and surprises me. On my birthday, there was a very small group of us, and he got up and read a poem. It was like a funny poem, it wasn’t like super serious. It was so cute!”

The video features a grown-up Duff dancing provocatively and singing lyrics like, “All I want is to feel you. Reach out and touch me,” while writhing in front of a mirror, holding onto a man’s leg and putting someone’s thumb in her mouth. Out for a good cause, Hilary Duff made an appearance at the Nina Footwear and Blessings In a Backpack event in New York City on Friday (October 24).

Held at P.S. 15, Roberto Clemente Elementary School, the former “Lizzie McGuire” starlet playfully posed with the schoolchildren, along with fellow guests-of-honor Miss Universe 2008 Dayana Mendoza and Miss USA 2008 Crystle Stewart.

As for the program which helps bring food and supplies to the less fortunate, Duff says, “I feel lucky enough to have a voice or a name that people might pay attention to.”

“I think that people might not be aware that a couple neighborhoods away, kids aren’t having food on the weekends, and we just want people to be informed and to know what’s going on in their communities and to help if they can,” she adds.

Hilary Duff brightened the lives of some students in need at a Fort Wayne, Ind. elementary school Tuesday.

Duff, 21, visited South Wayne Elementary School as a part of a promotion for Blessings in a Backpack, according to the Associated Press. The nonprofit organization donates food to needy students between the ages of 5 and 11; the children receive food on Fridays to ensure they don’t go hungry over the weekend.

“I feel lucky enough to have a voice or a name that people might pay attention to,” Duff said. “I think that people might not be aware that a couple neighborhoods away, kids aren’t having food on the weekends, and we just want people to be informed and to know what’s going on in their communities and to help if they can.”
