While much of the paparazzi attention has been focused on Miami over the weekend, Jennifer Aniston was up in New York City leading the charge to what became a photog frenzy on Saturday night (November 15).

The former “Friends” starlet was spotted paying a visit to Dos Caminos Restaurant in Manhattan for the “Saturday Nigh Live” afterparty, where fellow guests included Justin Timberlake and Natalie Portman.

The three, along with Andy Samberg, Paul Rudd, Masi Oka and Bill Paxton, all quickly made their way inside the downtown eatery - proceeding to mingle amongst one another while enjoying a few drinks.

Meanwhile, during the night’s show, Timberlake made a surprise appearance on “Weekend Update” - explaining how he would have loved to have been host of the show, but wasn’t offered he chance - then jumping on the anchor desk while belting out a tune.

In another hilarious sketch of superstar singer Beyonce filming a video, the “Sexy Back” stud returned as one of three men providing what has been appropriately termed as “bizarre, inappropriate backup.”

Though both have been coy about their relationship’s on-again status, Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer were spotted enjoying each other’s company yesterday in New York City.

Last night, the “Rumor Has It” hottie and her “No Such Thing” beau met up at the Goldbar Club, leaving together and heading back to the same Manhattan hotel.

Before that, Jen and Jon were spotted having dinner at La Esquina Café and Restaurant in Soho, though they both made separate exits in an unsuccessful effort to avoid paparazzi attention.

Earlier in the day, Mayer took advantage of a shopping opportunity at Paragon Sports to shop for his sweetheart, emerging with a bag full of finds.

John Mayer was having a good time on the red carpet at Alicia Keys’ Annual Keep a Child Alive Black Ball Thursday night. Must be because somebody’s got his back.

He started off the night by playfully grabbing the microphone of a reporter from the Tyra Banks Show to announce his own “talk show is going to be called John!”

And while the singer may be joking about his next career move, he had some serious words about girlfriend Jennifer Aniston. “It’s really nice to have somebody in life have your back,” Mayer told PEOPLE. “That girl knows me … so whether I go to bed alone or not, to have somebody who knows you in this world, that’s a really nice thing.”

If Mayer were to have a show, he said, “it would be nice to go back to a form of entertainment that doesn’t involve judging and criticizing. I’d like to entertain people with their phones down. It’s time to watch TV and be entertained by great artists without having to have a say in it.”

Entertain he did! Mayer got into a friendly bidding war with Queen Latifah over a lithograph during a live auction at the benefit. Fortunately, the charity was the big winner. There was an identical lithograph available so each star paid $100,000.

In a new interview with Oprah Winfrey Wednesday, Jennifer Aniston continues to open up about her love life - past and present.

When asked about her candid interview with Vogue, and it’s cover line calling Angelina Jolie’s past behavior “really uncool,” Aniston says she was merely responding to the reporter’s question. “I basically just answered it as honestly as I could,” Aniston says on The Oprah Winfrey Show, airing Thursday.

The actress has kinder words for ex-husband Brad Pitt, saying, “He’s done some amazing things in the last couple of years. So I just think he’s doing great.”

“We all want our movie to do well … Can we have a tie?” she quips.

As for her romantic life, she echoes her comments to Vogue. “I’ve been unbelievably lucky in love,” she tells Winfrey. “It just might not look the way it’s supposed to look at this point.”

Aniston also opens up about John Mayer - and addresses those pregnancy rumors - on Thursday’s show.

Exhibiting a bit of frustration, the former “Friends” star began, “People need to mind their own business,” adding, “Did you ever think Claudia Schiffer and David Copperfield made sense? Did Susan Anton and Dudley Moore make sense? Wait! I got more!”

Jen also revealed that she wasn’t expecting to fall in love with the “Waiting on the World to Change” singer. “You know, it isn’t designed. Love just shows up and you go, ‘Oh, wow, this is going to be a hayride and a half.’”

As for Mayer’s comments to the paparazzi earlier this year (he told reporters, I don’t want to waste somebody’s time if something’s not right) regarding their breakup, Miss Aniston was totally understanding. “He had to put that out there that he broke up with me. And especially because it’s me. It’s not just some girl he’s dating. I get it. We’re human. But I feel seriously protective of him and us.”

Regarding her failed marriage to Brad Pitt, Jen commented, “The marriage didn’t work out. Pretty soon after we separated, we got on the phone and we had a long, long conversation with each other and said a lot of things, and ever since we’ve been unbelievably warm and respectful of each other.”

Jennifer Aniston has a simple message when it comes to her on-again relationship with John Mayer: “People need to mind their own business,” the actress tells Vogue in its December issue.

Of course, Aniston, 39, understands why so many people are intrigued by their romance. There’s the age difference - Mayer is eight years younger - and the musician’s high-profile past relationships with starlets like Jessica Simpson.

It’s painful. There was no malicious intent. I deeply, deeply care about him; we talk, we adore one another. And that’s where it is.”

On Her Relationship with Brad Pitt

Equally candid about her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, Aniston says she has spoken to him since their divorce, and calls their split “amicable.”

“The marriage didn’t work out,” she tells the magazine. “Pretty soon after we separated, we got on the phone and we had a long, long conversation with each other and said a lot of things, and ever since we’ve been unbelievably warm and respectful of each other.”

Aniston, who says she’s been “unbelievably lucky in love,” is also practical about the subject. “Whoever said everything has to be forever,” she says. “That’s setting your hopes too high. It’s too much pressure. And I think if you put that pressure on yourself … that’s unattainable.”

Adam Sandler and his wife, Jackie, have had their first child, according to the comedian’s Web site.

“Kid is healthy!! Wife is healthy!!” says the posting. It did not give any other details, but a source tells PEOPLE the baby is a girl, born yesterday at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles.

Sandler, 39, and Jackie, 31, wed on June 22, 2003, at Dick Clark’s oceanfront Malibu estate before 400 guests, including Jennifer Aniston, Dustin Hoffman, Rodney Dangerfield, Sharon Osbourne and Rob Schneider.

At the Jewish ceremony, Sandler wore a tux and yarmulke - as did his bulldog Meatball, who preceded Jackie down the aisle, bearing her wedding band on his back. (Jackie, whose maiden name is Titone, converted to Judaism in 2000.)

The pair have been together for seven years. Jackie, a model and actress, has a brief role in Sandler’s film Big Daddy: She plays the waitress who takes his order for a root beer in the sports bar scene.

For the first time, Angelina Jolie has described what happened between her and Brad Pitt on the set of Mr. %26 Mrs. Smith - and she insists she never had any intention of breaking up his marriage to Jennifer Aniston.

When she first met her costar on the set of the thriller in 2003, “I didn’t know much about exactly where Brad was in his personal life,” Jolie, 31, says in the January issue of Vogue, according to excerpts published in the New York Post. “But it was clear he was with his best friend, someone he loves and respects.

“And so we were both living, I suppose, very full lives. … I think we were the last two people who were looking for a relationship. I certainly wasn’t. I was quite content to be a single mom.”

But “Brad was a huge surprise to me. I, like most people, had a very distant impression of him from … the media,” she says.

“Because of the film, we ended up being brought together to do all these crazy things, and I think we found this strange friendship and partnership that kind of just suddenly happened. I think a few months in I realized, ‘God, I can’t wait to get to work.’ … Anything we had to do with each other, we just found a lot of joy in it together and a lot of real teamwork. We just became kind of a pair.”

They didn’t start thinking about a relationship right away, she says. “It took until, really, the end of the shoot for us, I think, to realize that it might mean something more than we’d earlier allowed ourselves to believe. And both knowing that the reality of that was a big thing, something that was going to take a lot of serious consideration.”

The two remained “very, very good friends” from the time the movie wrapped in 2004 until after Pitt and Aniston announced their separation in January 2005, Jolie says.

Jolie says that the time she spent getting to know Pitt before his split was “not as exciting as what a lot of people would like to believe. We spent a lot of time contemplating and thinking and talking about what we both wanted in life and realized that we wanted very, very similar things.

“And then we just continued to take time. We remained very, very good friends - with this realization - for a long time,” she says. “And then life developed in a way where we could be together, where it felt like something we would do, we should do.”

In fact, it was her son, Madddox, now 5, who helped seal the deal. (Jolie and Pitt are also parents to Zahara, 23 months, and Shiloh, 6 months.) One day, Maddox “just out of the blue called him Dad,” says Jolie. “It was amazing. We were playing with cars on the floor of a hotel room, and we both heard it and didn’t say anything and just looked at each other. So that was probably the most defining moment, when he decided that we would all be a family.”

Jolie also says she’d be willing to meet with Aniston, but “That would be her decision, and I would welcome it.”

Pitt has said he and Jolie would not wed until all couples can legally marry, and Jolie agrees that tying the knot is not a priority. “We both have been married before, so it’s not marriage that’s necessarily kept some people together,” she says. “We are legally bound to our children, not to each other, and I think that’s the most important thing.”

Jennifer Aniston says Angelina Jolie has a lot to learn about being discreet.

In an interview in the December issue of Vogue, out Nov. 19, Aniston says that, though there’s no love lost between her and the woman who ended up with ex-husband Brad Pitt, Jolie should have been much more circumspect about the romance, which blossomed while Pitt and Aniston were still married.

“There was stuff printed there that was definitely from a time when I was unaware that it was happening,” Aniston, 39, says of comments Jolie had made to the same magazine a year earlier. “I felt those details were a little inappropriate to discuss. … That stuff about how she couldn’t wait to get to work every day? That was really uncool.”

Rumors that she is “clingy” or “needy” in love are off-base, she says.

“This whole ‘Poor lonely Jen’ thing, this idea that I’m so unlucky in love? I actually feel I’ve been unbelievably lucky in love,” she says.

Attention, John Mayer fans: There’s no need to send your favorite musician your extra Paxil.

In only his third official blog post since July, Mayer hits back at claims that he’s taken on a depressive demeanor.

“I am not darker, angrier or moodier these days. In fact, it’s just the opposite,” he writes on his Web site.

“All that’s happened is that I’ve given up on trying to find a way to use unwanted media as a form of entertainment. (It still was worth a try.) A walk to the car isn’t the best time to try and analyze my mood or disposition, so you’ll probably always get a bad read from it,” he writes.

“Things have changed a bit, and the decision to slide on and off your radar isn’t so much my own anymore. But I’m too young to stomp my feet about it,” Mayer continues. “All I can do is concentrate on keeping my heart and soul correct and then redecorate around it.”

Rekindled Romance

Mayer entered a media maelstrom when he split from Jennifer Aniston in August, then rekindled their romance last month, with the couple celebrating his 31st birthday together.

The musician also reveals he will be staying put in Los Angeles for a top-secret “side project that is extremely cool,” and promised more updates from now on, “so that you don’t feel as if I’ve disappeared and been replaced with a robotic clone.”
