It’s a full-on media blitz this week, as the cast of “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” are gearing up for the big theatrical release this Friday, October 24th.
And this morning Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, and Monique Coleman all stopped by the NBC Studios at Rockefeller Center in New York City for an appearance on the “Today” show.
Frenzied fans from all over crowded into the studio and watched through the windows from outside as the Disney hotties fielded questions about themselves as well as the new film.
On a related note, Mr. Efron has reportedly already figured out his next big career move - he’s signed on to star alongside Johnny Depp and Keira Knightley in the fourth installment of “Pirates of the Caribbean.” And rumor has it he’ll be paid $12 million for the role!

It’s not a pirate’s life for Zac Efron - at least not yet.
Despite reports to the contrary, the High School Musical 3: Senior Year star says he has no confirmed plans to follow Orlando Bloom as the young knave in Johnny Depp’s shadow in the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
“Honestly, at this time it’s just a rumor,” Efron told Ryan Seacrest on the American Idol host’s radio show on Wednesday. “I wish I was going to be in Pirates of the Caribbean 4, so hopefully that will happen for me.”
“Dude, honestly, I don’t talk about it,” Efron said. “It’s just easier.”

Moving on from jailed ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri, Anne Hathaway told PEOPLE she is crushing on a new mystery man.
“This guy I know in L.A. is kind of doing it for me right now,” the actress told PEOPLE at the London premiere for her newest movie, Rachel Getting Married. “When I think of sexy, I think of him.”
“You know when sometimes you don’t know someone very well - you’ll probably never see them again - but you just meet them and you’re like ‘WOW, you really have it going on’?”
Hathaway’s due to spend time with another sexy guy - Johnny Depp - as filming starts for Tim Burton’s upcoming film, Alice in Wonderland, in which she plays the role of the White Queen.
Is she excited to work with Depp? “Uh, yeah, ya think?” Hathaway, 25, told PEOPLE. “I hope I don’t faint. I’m wearing a corset which is difficult enough, but then to have to wear a corset and be short-breathed around Johnny Depp?”
And her friends are buzzing with excitement at her upcoming costar. “I have so many people coming out of the woodwork who really have never wanted to visit me on the set before just want to kind of come and hang out,” she says. “Everyone just wants to meet Johnny.
“It might be my hardest role to date - to keep my cool.”
Meanwhile, Hathaway’s ex Follieri, who pleaded guilty last month to wire fraud, money laundering and conspiracy, is preparing for his Oct. 23 sentencing.
Prosecutors said Monday, the Associated Press reports, that they urged the judge not to show leniency after learning that Follieri sent the judge a photo of himself and the pope in hopes of reducing his prison sentence.
Follieri agreed to four-plus years in prison during his guilty plea but last week his lawyers requested a three-year sentence instead.
Johnny Depp went back to one of his first loves - playing the guitar - at a benefit concert in Pompano Beach, Fla., Friday night.
The Oscar nominee played a 90-minute set with his bandmates from The Kids, a power-pop group formed in 1978 when Depp was a South Florida high schooler, at the 2,800-seat Club Cinema.
And Depp had two of his biggest fans in the audience watching him: girlfriend Vanessa Paradis and their 9-year-old daughter Lily-Rose, who sat together in the venue’s box seats as Depp smiled up at them from the stage (son Jack, 6, was not at the show).
Earlier in the day, the actor - who arrived in South Florida with his family on Thursday to give him some time to rehearse - posed for photos with Marino and his bandmates.
Onstage at Club Cinema, Depp - who dressed down in a blue T-shirt with holes, torn jeans and a flannel shirt tied around his waist - blended in with his fellow band members, playing lead electric guitar and singing background vocals on some of the band’s original tunes, as well as covers of classics like The Ronettes’ “Be My Baby.”
Lily-Rose cheered on her dad during the performance, and the proud daughter even snapped some photos of him with a disposable camera.
It’s been a very good year for Will Smith. Not only is his Hancock a runaway box-office hit, but he also banked an impressive $80 million - making him Hollywood’s top money earner last year, according to a new ranking from Forbes.
Cameron Diaz is no victim of the current economic pinch, either. Making $50 million last year, the Shrek and What Happens in Vegas star was Tinsel Town’s top-earning female, reports the business publication.
Among others in the financial stratosphere: No. 2-ranked Johnny Depp, with a $72 million paycheck, and, tied for third place, Eddie Murphy and Mike Myers, with $55 million each - even though Myers’s recent The Love Guru tanked.
And while Atonement leading lady Keira Knightley earned $32 million, and Jennifer Aniston pulled in $27 million, Forbes notes that, once the gold dust settles, men make twice as much as women in Hollywood.
In terms of media personalities, Oprah Winfrey still owns the bank. Her earnings last year were a staggering $275 million.
As for other TV stars, Charlie Sheen was the top-earning male ($20 million), while Grey’s Anatomy star Katherine Heigl - who’s also been stepping into big-screen roles - deposited $13 million, making her the top-ranking female.

Director Terry Gilliam is feverishly working to figure out how to keep Heath Ledger alive on film, according to one of the late actor’s costars in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, which Ledger was still shooting when he died last week.
“Terry’s throwing himself into the job of trying to salvage the picture,” veteran actor Christopher Plummer told PEOPLE over the weekend.
Despite earlier reports that the director might shelve the $30 million production, Gilliam, whom Plummer describes as “terribly saddened” by Ledger’s death is “trying to work out at this moment how to continue on. Fortunately, because the film deals with magic, there is a way, perhaps, of turning Heath into other people and then, using stills and I think they call it CGI…
Ledger and Plummer both left the London portion of the movie’s shoot last weekend and were due to continue filming next week in Vancouver. Leaving England, says Plummer, “Heath was in very high spirits. He was just enjoying himself tremendously. It’s a rather fanciful script, and he was wonderful in this role.”
Confirming earlier reports that Ledger hadnt been feeling well on set, Plummer says, “we all caught colds because we were shooting outside on horrible, damp nights. But Heath’s went on and I don’t think he dealt with it immediately with the antibiotics.…I think what he did have was the walking pneumonia.”
On top of that, “He was saying all the time, ‘dammit, I can’t sleep’…and he was taking all these pills %26#91;to help him%26#93;.”
As well as the damp cold and lack of sleep, Plummer describes the shoot as rigorous. “We had to shoot every second we were out there…there was hardly any time to go into the tent or the car to keep warm. We just kept shooting…boom, boom, boom…there was no pause. It was very, very hard work.”
Ledger would have appreciated the show-must-go-on mentality, says his co-star. “He was terribly likeable and obviously enormously talented…and the combination was terrific. It’s such a shame these things have to happen to the good ones.”
As for reports that Gilliam has approached Johnny Depp to step into Ledger’s role, the actor’s rep tells PEOPLE: “There have been no official talks, and he is currently working on Public Enemies for Michael Mann for Universal.”
Johnny Depp is a cat in the hat one 12-year-old will never forget.
Playing 1930’s bank robber John Dillinger - American’s Most Wanted at the time - for his upcoming movie Public Enemies, Depp was shooting on location in Wisconsin in April when he was observed on the set by local boy Jack Taylor, who especially admired Depp/Dillinger’s hat.
In fact, the boy wanted the fedora, and asked the actor if he could have it. Depp, 45, said Taylor could, once the movie was finished.
Last week, reports the Oshkosh, Wis., newspaper the Northwestern, Depp made good on his promise. Taylor received the hat.
Now Taylor is at work on a thank-you note. His parents are helping.
