As if she hasn’t been through enough this year! Earlier today it was reported that Michelle Williams’ father Larry agreed to return to the US from Australia to face tax evasion charges.

The prominent stock market trader was arrested in Australia back in 2006 and has been free on bail while fighting extradition charges.

And it’s going to be an uphill battle for the “Brokeback Mountain” actress’ papa, as he’s set to be questioned about a possible $1.5 million in unpaid taxes between 1990 and 2001 from his international seminars.

Larry Williams told press, “I will fight this and win. I will be back — I have a lot of friends here in Australia.” He’ll be leaving for Los Angeles on Wednesday (November 12).

Hosted by singer Michelle Williams and actor Jesse Metcalfe, Beyonce was amongst a list of top performers including former WMA winner Mariah Carey, as well as Alicia Keys and Kid Rock, among others.

As for the night’s big winners, British band Coldplay were dubbed the world’s top-selling act of 2008 as well as the WMA’s rock act of the year.

Reuters reports tell that the female pop award went to Britain’s Leona Lewis, while the male pop category was won by U.S. singer Kid Rock. Meanwhile, Amy Winehouse was named female pop/rock act of the year.

Other winners included Alicia Keys, who snatched up world’s best R&B category, while Lil Wayne was named world’s top hip-hop/rap artist.

Taking her daughter Matilda Ledger to the pediatrician for a checkup, Michelle Williams was spotted out in New York City earlier today (October 27th).

The “Brokeback Mountain” babe looked warm and cozy as she bundled up for the chilly fall weather in a brown topcoat with black stockings and matching black shoes.

Coming up in November, Miss Williams’ latest film, “Synedoche, New York” hits theaters starring Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Catherine Keener.

In the movie, Hoffman plays a theater director who struggles with his work, and the women in his life as he attempts to create a life-size replica of New York inside a warehouse as part of his new play.

Trying her best to enjoy a mother/daughter morning outing, Michelle Williams headed out on a coffee run with young Matilda Ledger and her nanny in Brooklyn on Friday (October 24).

A source on the scene tells, “Michelle was clearly angry with the waiting photographers, trying to hide behind her nanny and cover up daugther Matilda’s face.”

The insider adds, “As they got back to her house, Michelle hugged and thanked her nanny for acting as a human shield against the photographers.”

In related news, you can catch Michelle back on the big screen coming up next month, as her new film “Synecdoche, New York” hits theaters on November 14th.

After months of low-key dating, it seems Michelle Williams and Spike Jonze are finally ready to take their romance public.

After attending a Cinema Society screening of their new film, Synecdoche, New York in Manhattan Wednesday night, the couple walked out of the auditorium with Jonze caressing Williams’ back and wrapping his arm around her waist.

The pair held hands as they walked through the lobby, where they met up with Synecdoche costar Catherine Keener. While the two women chatted and munched on popcorn, Jonze snaked his arm around Williams’ waist again.

“He couldn’t seem to keep his hands off her,” said an onlooker. “It was very cute.”

But the sparks really started to fly later that night, when they headed to the Gramercy Hotel’s rooftop club for the Mulberry-sponsored afterparty.

And later, when they decided to leave the bash at around 1 a.m., Williams and Jonze shared a mini makeout session - on their way to the elevator.

Williams, 28 - who has an almost-three-year old daughter, Matilda, with the late Heath Ledger - met the director in 2006, when she audtioned for his film, Where the Wild Things Are. They reconnected last year, when she signed on to star in Synecdoche, which he produced.

After years of speculation, singer Beyoncé Knowles wed her longtime boyfriend, rapper Jay-Z, on Friday, a friend of the couple’s tells PEOPLE.

Though there is no official confirmation, the friend says, “It happened earlier this evening. Jay wanted it to be a really private affair - close friends and family.”

The ceremony was followed by a lavish party at the rapper’s Tribeca apartment that drew Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles, her father/manager Mathew, her sister Solange, her Destiny’s Child mates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, and the couple’s friend Gwyneth Paltrow.

The wedding buzz began when the couple went to get a marriage license at a village hall in Scarsdale, N.Y., on Tuesday.

DJ Cassidy, a favorite of Jay-Z, was hired to spin. “Cassidy mentioned a week ago that he was really excited for Jay Z and Beyoncé’s wedding party to happen,” says another source.

Early Friday morning, workers erected a white tent atop the building in Tribeca, where Jay-Z owns a penthouse apartment. Not long after, an SUV carrying what seemed to be AV equipment arrived, followed by deliveries of party rentals and flowers.

A source tells PEOPLE that Amy’s Orchids was hired to provide 50,000 to 60,000 white orchid blooms from Thailand for a “big party.” At the apartment, waiters were seen practicing their service.

A couple since 2002, Jay-Z, 38, and Knowles, 26, always kept quiet about their relationship, even as they were photographed together on romantic holidays around the world.

Still, marriage seemed to be in the cards - eventually. “I never pictured myself as a bride,” she told Cosmopolitan in January 2006, “but after my sister’s wedding, I did start thinking about what kind of wedding I’d want. I don’t think I want a big one.”

Michelle Williams and director Spike Jonze, who were recently spotted getting cozy together in Brooklyn, have taken their relationship bicoastal.

The twosome shared an intimate dinner at Little Dom’s in Los Angeles’ Los Feliz neighborhood on Aug. 2. According to a fellow diner, Williams, 27, and Jonze, 38, started off their late-night meal sitting across from each other. “During dinner they would lean in and kiss each other over the table,” the diner says.

Jonze, the ex-husband of Sofia Coppola, produced the actress’ upcoming film Synecdoche, New York. At the Brooklyn deli, the director “had his arm around %26#91;Williams%26#93; and kissed her on the cheeks, then on the lips,” PEOPLE reported recently.

Reps for both had no comment.

Mary-Kate Olsen wants immunity from prosecution before she will cooperate with a federal investigation into close friend Heath Ledger’s accidental overdose death, PEOPLE has confirmed.

Investigators could subpoena the 22-year-old actress but hope to work this out, a law enforcement source said Monday.

Olsen’s publicist and lawyer didn’t immediately comment.

Ledger, 28, was found in the bedroom of his New York apartment Jan. 22 by his housekeeper and a masseuse who had arrived for an appointment with the actor. The masseuse called Olsen before calling 911, police said.

The Drug Enforcement Administration’s probe into whether Ledger was over-prescribed medicine began shortly after his death. An autopsy revealed he had prescription pain, anxiety and sleep medications in his system and the combination killed him.

Federal investigators conducted interviews, including one of Ledger’s ex-girlfriend, Michelle Williams, the source said.

The only person left to interview is Olsen, the source said.

“We are also still waiting for information from pharmacy purchases by Ledger in Italy and England,” the source said.

Olsen’s desire for immunity was first reported by the New York Post.

Heath Ledger’s family is eager to attend The Dark Knight premiere in New York City Monday night in honor of the actor, while other family and friends will get to see his buzzed-about performance back home in Perth, Australia in advance screenings.

“I spoke to them before they left for the U.S. and they were great,” says a representative with the Australian entertainment company Village Roadshow of the Ledgers, who traveled from their hometown of Perth, Western Australia for the event. “They were looking forward to the trip and going to the premiere.”

Michelle Williams will not be attending the premiere. Reports speculated she was “boycotting” it because of a rift with Ledger’s family over his 2003 will that left his assets to his father, mother, and three sisters. But that is not the case, says her rep. In a statement issued last month, her rep called any reports of a rift “absurd.”

“Family and friends of Heath Ledger will attend one of several previews of The Dark Knight in Perth on July 14,” the Roadshow rep says. “A bunch of tickets was sent to a contact of the family who has distributed them to family and friends.”

The Dark Knight hits theaters Friday, July 18.
