Jennifer Aniston has nothing but compliments for her Marley %26 Me costar Owen Wilson.

“Owen Wilson is so divine in this film,” the actress tells the L.A. Times. “I’ve never seen him play a part like this. He was a man; he was a husband; he was a father.”

In a reference to some of Wilson’s personal struggles, Aniston adds, “I feel like, how brave of him, to walk through the year that he walked through.”

Wilson was hospitalized in 2007 for an apparent suicide attempt. Marley %26 Me, due out Dec. 25, is one of his first roles since the incident.

Her other costar, a yellow lab named Clyde, was not as kind. “I walked onto the set and put my sweater and my bag down on the couch, and that dog leapt up onto the couch, grabbed my sweater and started ripping it. The set was a toy,” she said.

Aniston, 39, said her films either have a great working environment or a great finished product, but this one was both. “When you actually can have %26#91;the finished film%26#93; be as fantastic and fulfilling as the experience itself was, it’s called a home run. A creative, emotional home run. Those moments don’t happen that often.”

The new mom, who sported a red floral-printed shirt and jean shorts and wore her hair partially pulled back, dined with an unidentified older woman and nibbled on the McCarthy chopped salad between playing with her little girl. She and her companion smiled and cooed over Harlow throughout their meal.

• Owen Wilson, making a late-night pit stop at one of his favorite haunts, Venice, Calif., bar The Other Room. Dressed casually in jeans, a T-shirt and a dark flannel button-down, he made his way to the back of the very crowded venue and laughed with a male friend over a drink at the bar. Wilson welcomed several fans who stopped by to say hello before leaving inconspicuously after only 20 minutes. A couple of days later, the actor had dinner with two male friends at trendy Venice eatery Gjelina, where they talked quietly at one of the restaurant’s communal tables.

• Lauren Conrad, holding hands with boyfriend Kyle Howard at a 30th birthday bash for club promoter Jean Paul Rodriguez at Teddy’s at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. The Hills star and her man stole kisses in the privacy of their booth and were inseparable during the party. Also making the scene: Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who danced to Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl”, Frankie Delgado, Jesse McCartney and Kevin Connolly.

• Colin Farrell, watching his novelist girlfriend Emma Forrest do a striptease burlesque number set to traditional Jewish music at Heeb magazine’s “Heeb Storytelling” night at M Bar in Hollywood. Farrell sported his ladylove’s Star of David necklace while partying with fellow event-goers Natalie Portman, Kate Beckinsale and Rose McGowan.

• Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder took over a dark corner of VIP-only Bar 1200 at the Sunset Marquis Hotel and Villas in West Hollywood. Reeves, dressed in jeans and a black blazer, and Ryder, wearing a black T-shirt and pants, sipped cocktails as they talked seriously. The actress, whose shoes were off, sat catty-corner from her former Dracula costar, who listened intently to her as he chain-smoked. As the night went on, the pair inched closer and closer to each other so that they ended up sitting side by side. They stayed until closing and then headed out together.

Trying to sweep Kate Hudson off her feet? Try taking her out for miniature golf - but whatever you do, don’t be boring.

The actress shared some of her best and worst dating moments Monday at a press conference for her new comedy, My Best Friend’s Girl, opening Sept. 19.

“One date, I just left before we even ordered food because the guy was just so deeply boring that it was like, ‘I’m going to just save us from all of this and just leave,’ ” said Hudson, 29, adding that her date “was in banking. I’m not kidding.”

Instead, the actress suggests other ways to get her motor running.

Hudson’s romantic life has been star-studded - she was married to Chris Robinson and has been involved with Owen Wilson and Lance Armstrong. But after a tough day on the job, the actress says it’s her family (including son Ryder, 4) and friends that keep her grounded.

“In order to deal with %26#91;everything%26#93;, I just once again go back to my life at home with my family, my son and my friends,” she said. “It makes everything okay. It makes everything feel more balanced.”

It’s no secret that the Wilson brothers - Owen, Luke and Andrew - love working together. But, as Luke confesses, mixing business and family “can be good and bad.”

For example, says Luke - at 36 the youngest of the brothers - on the set of The Wendell Baker Story, in which he and Andrew, 43, directed Owen, 39, there was a moment or two when the three didn’t see eye-to-eye. And, like most brothers, they resolved their differences fairly: the biggest one won.

“Owen basically said he was done with the scene, and we didn’t feel like we’d gotten it,” Luke said recently. “So Andrew is like, ‘You’re done? You’re not going to do it again?’ %26#91;He%26#93; looks at me, and I’m like, ‘I can’t, you’re bigger than he is, just kick his ass. Just kick his ass, man.’”

Still, even though the brothers are planning to work together again, nobody wrangles the Wilsons like their friend and director Wes Anderson. While nothing is officially in the works, according to Luke, a project “definitely I’m sure %26#91;will%26#93; happen in the future.” He added: “Always want to put the band back together!”

Place café at The Grove in Los Angeles. “So many kids were

coming up to the table to meet her,” an onlooker tells us. But Posh didn’t

mind the attention, the onlooker says. After lunch, the fashionista and her

son walked - or rather, Romeo rolled on his shoes with wheels - with an

entourage (including two bodyguards) to the Quicksilver Youth shop where

they browsed the swimwear before hopping into a waiting car.

• Old friends Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson, chatting with the owner of Hollywood’s Green Door in the lounge’s library

area. The happy trio chatted, took tequila shots and attracted the attention

of female patrons. “Chicks were coming up to them left and right,” an

onlooker tells us. “The guys were having a good time.”

• Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson,

getting sweet at Dylan’s Candy Bar in East Hampton, N.Y., where the two

shopped for candy. Ronson picked up some chocolate-covered graham crackers

and some candy lipsticks during the quick visit.

• The Jonas Brothers, leaning over the center

balcony at the House of Blues in West Hollywood during Rooney’s

concert. (Rooney opened for the Jonas Brothers on their last tour!) The guys

- Joe, Nick and Kevin - were surrounded by a posse of guys their

age who sang and fist-pumped along with every song. While audience

members rocked out to Rooney, too, apparently it was the Jonas Brothers who turned

heads. After the band’s encore of “I’m Shakin,’” loads of teenage girls ran

for the balcony stairs to try and meet the guys.

• Marcia Cross, picking up fresh produce and flowers at the

Brentwood Farmers Market. The Desperate Housewives star sported

workout attire while picking up tomatoes, white corn and two bunches of

fresh flowers. The corn was also a hit for Don Cheadle, who grabbed

some to-go as well.

They may be all laughs together on the silver screen, but when it comes to friend Owen Wilson’s attempted suicide last year, Tropic Thunder star Ben Stiller is gravely serious.

“I love Owen, and I felt bad that he had to deal with all the outside bulls–,” the comic actor, 42, tells Playboy in its August issue. “It’s impossible to understand that kind of pain - depression or anything like that - until you’re in it.”

On a cheerier note, Stiller admits to idolizing costar Robert Downey Jr. on the Thunder set.

And as for leading-man Tom Cruise, who does an unflattering turn as a bald studio head in Tropic Thunder, Stiller was impressed with his enthusiasm.

“The role was his idea,” he says. “It wasn’t even in the script. I didn’t have to persuade him.”

Santa Monica police confirmed that officers responded to an attempted suicide at Owen Wilson’s house, according to the police log.

The department’s “Call for Service Report” posted online shows that the report came in at 12:08 p.m. Sunday from Wilson’s 23rd Street address and that officers cleared the case five hours later.

The call was logged as “Attempt Suicide” - the first official confirmation of the reason for the call.

No other details were provided.

Wilson, 38, was recovering at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He issued a statement pleading for privacy to allow him to “receive care and heal in private during this difficult time.”

Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer continued to keep their romance firmly off the radar Saturday.

Slipping unnoticed into the musician’s backstage area at the Hard Rock Calling festival in London’s Hyde Park, Aniston stood quietly in the wings while the “Georgia Calling” singer ran through a 45-minute set in front of an audience of ten of thousands.

But the actress wasn’t just there to lend moral support: wearing a black-and-white floral halter-neck top and faded flared jeans, Aniston busily snapped away with her camera to record Mayer’s on-stage performance.

Earlier this week, the couple united in Amsterdam, where she was promoting the upcoming Marley and Me (with Owen Wilson) and Mayer was performing.

In keeping with the low-key theme of her London visit, she never once ventured into the Hard Rock VIP area and quietly left the show without anyone noticing.

Even the paparazzi camped outside her London hotel were left guessing.

Mayer later appeared on stage at the end of the show alongside headliner Eric Clapton and Aniston’s close friend Sheryl Crow. But again Aniston was absent.

Mayer is due to perform at the Glastonbury Festival on Sunday. His European tour then moves onto Copenhagen.

“She was on the side of the stage and really couldn’t be seen by anyone,” an onlooker tells PEOPLE. “John didn’t make any call-outs to her during the Hard Rock Calling show, but she was seen hanging out with him in the Artist Area before and after his performance.”

On Friday, Aniston arrived at side entrance of his show in gritty Brixton, south London, around 8.30 p.m., looking casual in dark blue jeans and stepping out of a red Range Rover.

At one point, he said, enigmatically, that “every relationship someone steps into might some how shake you up a bit. So I’m gonna take my time a little bit.”

Fans outside the gig said they had seen Aniston sitting in an upper level, playing with her hair watching the singer, and she and Mayer were seen leaving around 11:30.

Why the extended layover? Aniston, 39, was in town to attend the 2008 Cinema Expo to promote her upcoming film Marley %26 Me, along with costar Owen Wilson.

With her boyfriend away, Aniston turned tourist, taking a sightseeing boat tour of Amsterdam’s complex series of canals.
