In his first TV interview since his top-secret marriage to Scarlett Johansson, Ryan Reynolds stops by the Rachael Ray show Wednesday to talk marathons, munchies and marriage.
Having recently completed the New York City Marathon in honor of his father who suffers from Parkinson’s disease, Reynolds, 32, brought along surprise guest Michael J. Fox to discuss the 26.2-mile ordeal.
When Ray asked about Reynolds’s pre-race blogs - which chronicled his concern about nipple bleeding, a common affliction for marathoners thanks to the friction from their T-shirts - the Definitely, Maybe star gamely bantered back, “Thankfully all three nipples are fine.”
Moving on to more cooking-show-appropriate conversation, they also discussed his post-finish-line meal. Claiming to have chowed down nearly 10,000 calories, Reynolds said he polished off two chocolate sundaes, three tuna wraps and some spaghetti and meatballs.
“Onlookers were just in slack-jawed horror,” he quipped.
Not to be outdone by his comedic counterpart, Fox happily piped in to impart some pearls of wisdom for the newlywed.
“Just remember this,” Fox warned his friend, “If a man says something in the forest and his wife isn’t there to hear him, he’s still wrong.” An apt pupil, Reynolds quickly agreed: “Well said!”

Ellen DeGeneres did it again - claiming the title of outstanding talk-show host, for the fourth year in a row - at Friday night’s 35th annual Daytime Emmy Awards, where a jubilant Tyra Banks and Rachael Ray also ended up in the winner’s circle.
“I never take this for granted,” said DeGeneres, clutching her shiny statuette. “I know every single year people joke about it.” Besides acknowledging her show staff and partner Portia de Rossi, DeGeneres also thanked her show’s fans, “amazing, amazing people.”
In something of a surprise, however, instead of Ellen’s winning a fifth consecutive Emmy as best talk show (entertainment), the accolade went to Rachael Ray. “Holy cat. That is exciting,” said the cooking host. “I really can’t breathe.”
The supermodel, whose Tyra Banks Show won in the new category of informative program, was first shown in a clip delivering her TV tirade about her shape and size, which ended with her telling her detractors to kiss her behind.
In her thank-you, she reprised the message, saying that no one should ever listen to naysayers.
Banks also thanked her mother (”My mama is crying like a baby,” she exclaimed on the podium) and Oprah Winfrey, “for being the queen.”
The night’s first winner was supporting actress in a drama series Gina Tognoni, of The Guiding Light, who noted the show is 71 years old this year. “I am proud of daytime,” Tognoni said, “and I pray it goes on for a million more years.”
The top drama series Emmy went to General Hospital, which also claimed Emmys for its lead actor Anthony Geary - his sixth Emmy.
Other winners included The Young and the Restless’s lead actress Jeanne Cooper (a first-time winner) and its supporting actor, Kristoff St. John (his second Emmy); Guiding Light’s Tom Pelphrey, as best younger actor (his second Emmy); and As the World Turns’s Jennifer Landon, as younger actress (her third consecutive Emmy).
Regis Philbin received a lifetime achievement award, introduced by Jimmy Kimmel, who referred to Kelly Ripa as Regis’s granddaughter. Diane Sawyer, Anderson Cooper, Don Rickles and Pat Sajak also chimed in with sentiments.
Cristina’s Court was honored as the best show with a gavel-pounding judge, another new category.
Rachael Ray cooked up a rock ‘n’ roll bash in Austin, Texas - drawing revelers at the annual South by Southwest music festival who were treated to Mexican food and a performance by her husband’s band. Called The Feedback Showcase, Ray’s Saturday night party at Beauty Bar was all about music, fun and, of course, food.
“We both love Austin so much and we just wanted to come visit the city again and have some fun,” Ray told PEOPLE about her trip with hubby John Cusimano.
“That was totally unexpected,” Ray said. “We didn’t even know %26#91;Gibbons%26#93; was going to be here - and then when he got up on stage with John, that was great! He played with John’s guitar and John told me he wasn’t ever going to wash it again because Gibbons from ZZ Top played it!”
In addition to the Cringe, Danish rockers the Raveonettes performed for the
crowd as guests munched on veggie enchiladas suizas, a tomatillo salsa and
macaroni cheese dish, seven layer dip and Ray’s mother’s bourbon chicken
with cornbread stuffing topping.

Rachael Ray welcomes the world into her kitchen every day. But finding eating companions wasn’t always so easy. For years, she says, she was a lunchtime pariah.
“I had the lunchbox that cleared the cafeteria,” the Rachael Ray Show host told PEOPLE in NYC Thursday, at a party for Food for New York and The Lunchbox Fund. “I was very unpopular in the early grades.”
Forgoing the standard PB%26J for exotic Italian foods may not have won many friends, but Ray insists she wasn’t lonely. “I sat alone, but that’s okay,” she said. “I sat alone with good food!”
Ray and her husband, John Cusimano, are among a handful of celebrities who’ve designed lunchboxes that are now being auctioned off for hunger relief. (Other stars include Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon and Maggie Gyllenhaal.)
For the record, Ray didn’t even bother with a lunchbox during her school days. “It was a brown paper sack,” she said. “Pretty basic, but with grease stains all over it!”

Rachael Ray briefly got as hot under the collar as her oven Friday, when she said tabloid reports about her marriage “are really killing me.”
Ray, 39, talking on her daily TV show, recounted how she once got a phone call after someone had read that she and husband John Cusimano were calling it quits.
“Are you getting a divorce?” Ray said the caller asked, to which she replied, “I hope not, because John’s mixing %26#91;me%26#93; a heckuva Margarita in the kitchen.”
Describing her husband, a lawyer who is also lead singer for the band The Cringe, the TV chef said, “I would never be dumb enough to give up free legal advice, a rock star, a great cook and a handsome guy, at that.”
For the record, she said, “John and I are happily, grotesquely, blissfully married,” and the two have been happy since meeting eight years ago.
“I love him desperately,” she added.
This week, Ray’s rep told PEOPLE, “Rachael and John have never been happier.”
Earlier this year, Ray herself told PEOPLE about her love for Cusimano, saying, “I have our entire relationship saved on my phone. Sixteen messages between meeting and getting married. I resave them every 21 days.”
Rachael Ray is hitting back at tabloid rumors that her marriage is on the rocks.
During a taping of her talk show Monday, the normally bubbly cook said that constant reports about the state of her marriage to John Cusimano are starting to upset her, an observer tells PEOPLE.
“Everybody gossips … but this stuff is hurting people’s feelings who are in our families and friends of ours,” Ray told the audience on the show, set to air Friday. “They worry about us.”
She also told the audience, “The tabloids won’t stop printing this junk
until people stop buying it.”
A spokesperson for Ray confirms to PEOPLE that she spoke about the tabloid rumors, and adds, “Rachael and John have never been happier.”
According to another source, during a recent appearance in New York to promote her newly released cookbook Just in Time, Ray was asked multiple times by fans if her marriage was in trouble.
“John actually showed up at the book signing and they looked very much in love,” says the source. “I bet she finally decided she needed to let her fans know she was alright and that the lies being written about her were just that, lies.”
