Now that High School Musical 3 is a big-screen hit, Selena Gomez wants to make some movie magic of her own.
The star of the Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place - about a Manhattan family whose children have magical powers - says there are plans to turn the show into a movie.
“We actually want to shoot here in New York,” Gomez, 16, told MTV News. The plotline? “I think it would have to be that our %26#91;family’s%26#93; secret is about to be exposed.”
In the meantime, Gomez says her character will have her first boyfriend on the show’s upcoming second season. (In real life, Gomez is rumored to be dating Nick Jonas).
Still, if she had her way, Gomez would have another boyfriend on her show - her celebrity crush, Shia LaBeouf. “You’d think that as much as I promote it %26#91;he’d make an appearance%26#93;,” she said. “I’m like, begging, but it’s not happening. I know I’m a nerd! Please, Shia, come on my show!”

Enjoying a relaxing afternoon out and about, Rachel Bilson was spotted paying her mother a visit in Studio City on Tuesday (October 28).
Looking cute in a button-up shirt with slim-fit white trousers and brown strappy sandals, the former “OC” starlet also fit in some shopping at the Sherman Oaks Mall during the course of the day.
As of late, Rachel has been taking it easy in the filming department, instead focusing on the launch of her new DKNY jeans collection, Edie Rose.
She’s also awaiting the release of her new movie “New York, I Love You,” which is “a collective work of twelve short films each running around 5 minutes long all rolled into one, created by several international directors in New York’s five boroughs, with a common theme of finding love.”
The romance film is set to be released on February 13, 2009, with an all-star cast including Rachel and boyfriend Hayden Christensen, as well as Orlando Bloom, Natalie Portman, Christina Ricci, and Shia LaBeouf.

Besides getting decked out in hippie garb for a Halloween party, Rachel Bilson was sure to find time on Sunday to spend with her “Jumper” co-star boyfriend Hayden Christensen.
The loved up duo strolled side-by-side as they went grocery shopping at Gelson’s Market in Hollywood, with Rachel wearing a funky ensemble while Hayden stuck with the usual unbuttoned plaid shirt with a white tee underneath with jeans and a ballcap.

Shia LaBeouf, who crushed his hand in a car accident, was injured yet again, this time on a movie set, PEOPLE confirms.
LaBeouf, 22, suffered a cut below his eyebrow while working on Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen on Tuesday. The actor received stitches on set and went immediately back to work.
LaBeouf’s hand injury had been written into the script for the Transformers sequel. There was no word on whether his latest injury would also be included in the storyline.
Reps for LaBeouf had no comment.
The on-set injury was first reported by TMZ.com.
Action star Shia LaBeouf is just as tough off screen as he is on.
“I’m just propped up right now to do Transformers 2,” LaBeouf told PEOPLE of his left hand at Tuesday’s Eagle Eye premiere in Hollywood. “Then, when I get another surgery, I’ll start recovering. Right now, I’m getting through.”
It was his first red carpet appearance since the July 27 DUI citation and accident that crushed his hand. The 22-year-old kept the healing appendage, which was in a white protective guard, in his pocket for most of the night. And when asked if he was “70- to 80-percent back to normal,” LaBeouf joked, “I haven’t percentaged it out.”
“It will be a part of it,” Alex Kurtzman, Transformers 2 co-writer and Eagle Eye producer, said. “Very little, actually, very little. Without giving too much away, it actually fit very organically into what we were already doing.”
LaBeouf revealed to PEOPLE that it’s the elaborate action sequences with explosions on Eagle Eye, Transformers 2, and Indiana Jones 4 where actors stand to get injured.
“You start pushing it a little bit. The scary thing about doing it so often is you take certain things for granted,” he said. “You forget to put the elbow pad on, and you wind up wrecking your elbow … You become jaded. It’s work to not become jaded.”

Calling his July 27 traffic accident “eye-opening and terrifying,” Shia LaBeouf considers himself lucky to be alive.
“The car hit me at 70 m.p.h.,” the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull star, 22, tells Entertainment Tonight in his first interview since his truck flipped over on a West Hollywood street.
“It was one of the biggest things that’s happened to me, for sure, in my life,” said LaBeouf. “I’m grateful to be here.”
At the hospital, LaBeouf was cited for misdemeanor DUI because “he was showing obvious signs of intoxication from the smell of alcohol coming from his breath,” sheriff’s Sgt. Scott Wolf told PEOPLE.
However, the actor has yet to be formally charged with any crime.
In addition, LaBeouf may not be at fault for the accident, because the other driver was found to have run a red light, a sheriff’s spokesman said.
It’s been a rough summer for Indiana Jones star Shia LaBeouf, who crushed his hand in a car accident resulting in his arrest on suspicion of drunk driving. But don’t count him out, says a pal.
“He’s been through a lot, he’s had a hard life, and he grew up with some scars. But he’s a fighter,” says Christy Carlson Romano, who costarred with LaBeouf in the Disney TV series Even Stevens. “I have his back.”
But LaBeouf is no angel, she admits. “In fact, he’s crazy like a rock star!” she says.
“I’m not an advocate of drinking and driving,” Romano tells PEOPLE at a Samsung event Sept. 3 in New York City honoring fashion designer Valentino. “But I think that the criticism is a little overexaggerated. In Los Angeles, even if you have one drink, that counts as a DUI.”
Despite the setback, Romano doesn’t think LaBeouf’s rising star was tarnished.
“I grew up with girls like Scarlett Johansson and Hilary Duff, and I can tell star quality when I see it. He’s got it,” says the actress, who played Shia’s big sister Ren Stevens in the Disney original series and will now be joining the cast of Broadway’s Avenue Q.
She notes that LaBeouf still jokingly calls her “sis” but “he doesn’t call me up for advice!”
It’s back to work for Shia LaBeouf - who is set to re-commence filming on the Transformers sequel Thursday, according to TV’s The Insider.
Doctors performed extensive surgery on LaBeouf’s left hand in July, following his late-night car crash. (The actor was cited for misdemeanor DUI - but police have said he may not be at fault.)
The 22-year-old’s injuries will be written into the script of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, which is currently shooting in Los Angeles.
