While it’s typical to see one male actor replaced by another, it’s not often that an actress is casted for a guy’s role. But Angelina Jolie has just confirmed that she’ll be taking over for Tom Cruise in the spy movie “Edwin A. Salt”.

Talking to the BBC on Monday, Jolie said of her next project, “I’m working on a film called Salt. And it’s with [Bone Collector director] Phillip Noyce. And that’s it.”

It had been rumored for a few months now that Jolie may have taken the role once filled by Cruise, who dropped out of the film.

After reworking by the espionage thriller’s writers, Jolie will play a now-female lead as “a CIA officer falsely accused of being a Russian agent.”

Working weekends, Katie Holmes was spotted out on Saturday (November 15) leaving her New York City apartment for two trips to the Broadway stage.

Continuing on with performances of “All My Sons,” the former “Dawson’s Creek” cutie was excorted to the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre by her security staffer - heading back home afterwards.

Tom Cruise made a wardrobe change by changing her scarf, shirt and boots, also seemingly sporting shorter hair than just a few hours earlier.

Meanwhile, Katie recently opened up about who she considers to be a role model - naming Jada Pinkett-Smith as just that person.

“Jada is so strong,” Holmes told People magazine “She is a rare woman – a phenomenal friend, mother, wife. She inspires me.”

Keeping quite the hectic schedule, Katie Holmes was spotted making her way all over New York City on what was a chilly Wednesday (November 12).

The former “Dawson’s Creek” cutie first stepped out of her Big Apple apartment to attend her downtown yoga class. After stretching and breathing, Katie left the session with a big smile on her face.

Following a trip back home to clean up and change clothes, Mrs Tom Cruise was once again spotted heading back out of her NYC abode - this time for an evening at work.

In related news, OK! Magazine is reporting that “Tom Cruise’s adopted son with Nicole Kidman, Connor, wants a brother - and since Nicole may not have any more children, it could be up to Katie to give Connor the baby brother he wants.”

Of the situation, Kidman passed on the duties, telling press: “[He] would like one of us to have a boy. He wants that boy. Katie?”

And that might just happen, as a source told the magazine, “Katie and Tom very much want another baby. There may be no better time than now for Katie to get pregnant again and absolutely nothing would make Tom happier.”

The mother/daughter duo playfully laughed amongst one another as they strolled along, with Suri looking quite ladylike with her nails painted up with red polish.

Tom Cruise reportedly treated Suri to a trip to the “Hairspray” stage show.

Tom looked bundled up in a plaid scarf and blue coat with jeans while Katie sported her orange-with-gold-accents Halloween dress and a black topcoat and Suri opted for a red dress with white mini polka dots and white stockings.

And after a night surely filled with plenty of candy as well as a few ghouls and goblins, Tom was spotted returning to the apartment with a very tired-looking Suri.

The athletes reenact the actor’s classic Risky Business dance scene - the one in which he parades around a button-down shirt and white socks - for a commercial for Guitar Hero World Tour edition. The spot, directed by Brett Ratner, features the four sports legends jamming to Bob Seger’s “Old Time Rock and Roll.” Bryant sings the lead, A-Rod and Phelps are on guitar, and Hawk skateboards onto the scene with a drum set.
