The “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” stud reportedly shelled out $50,000 on a swanky vintage Louis Vuitton steamer trunk to go with his sweetie’s new $3 million house.

A source close to the couple told press, “Vanessa loves Louis Vuitton, but she wouldn’t spend the money for it.” But thanks to her hunky boyfriend, she didn’t have to drop a dime.

The source also explained that, to Miss Hudgens, it’s way more than just an old piece of furniture. “To her, it’s a piece of art.”

They’ve been working overtime to bring their hit movie “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” to as many fans as possible. And earlier today Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, and Ashley Tisdale were in Melbourne, Australia.

And there certainly wasn’t a shortage of interest in the big premiere as over 1500 screaming fans showed up to welcome the Disney darlings to the Village Jam Factory.

With such far-reaching success, Vanessa confessed she’s taken aback by the success of the HSM films. She told press, “It’s very overwhelming. It’s incredible though, the fans are so amazing.”

Zac added, “I love being a part of High School Musical. I wish I could do it forever, but everyone’s got to grow up. I’d love to try it all. I’ll see where the wind takes me.”

The young stars all headed out for a water taxi cruise along the Circular Quay Wharf before dining at the Catalina Rose Bay restaurant, with the meal followed up by a little retail therapy at Ksubi.

The third installment of the popular Disney teen series opens up in theaters Down Under on December 4, with the premiere going down tonight at George St Greater Union and on Wednesday (November 12) at Melbourne’s Village Jam Factory.

Ready for the chaos, Disney has reportedly hired 28 security guards and notified local police to make sure that the avid fans keep under control.

Back on the promotional trail after a short Hawaiian getaway, Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens attended a press conference for “High School Musical 3″ in Mexico City on Thursday (October 30).

The cute co-star couple hammed it up for photographers before heading back to their hotel to get ready for Friday’s Mexico City premiere.

And their promotions are certainly paying off, as HSM3 debuted as the box-office champ over the past weekend, taking in a record-setting opening for a musical by bringing in $42 million.

Of the Disney hit movie, Zac said, “From the very first day, Kenny (Ortega) made a point of really challenging us. I remember I wasn’t particularly confident in my dancing, and it still tends to be the weaker aspect of my musical performance. But in this third movie, I feel that we all have grown in a lot of ways. We felt more prepared this time.”
