On her way out of town, Kate Hudson was spotted at LAX International airport last night, wading through a sea of fans and paparazzi.

The “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” actress looked a bit worn out as she passed through the terminal sporting a grey poncho-style dress with black stockings, black boots, and a green fedora.

Courteney Cox and David Arquette (dressed as a witch and a warlock), Winona Ryder (dressed as a mouse), and Cindy Crawford (dressed as Amy Winehouse).

Gerard Butler also showed up dressed as a cowboy. And according to a witness he was quite popular with the ladies. “All the girls at the party were lining up to talk to Gerard . . . he left with two very sexy vampires.”

The “Prom Night” babe was spotted leaving El Compadra Restaurant in Beverly Hills following a delicious birthday dinner, sporting a black top, black jacket, yellow miniskirt, and black open-toed heels.

Earlier in the evening, Jessica was busy debuting Kitson’s 90210 Collection in West Hollywood, joined by co-star/boyfriend Dustin Milligan.

As for upcoming projects, Miss Stroup recently wrapped the film “The Informers” starring Billy Bob Thornton, Kim Basinger, and Winona Ryder.

Perhaps the outing was a celebration for Holmes’s success in the Broadway show All My Sons? The drama, which is running in previews, officially opens Oct. 16.

• Nicole Richie, having a late lunch with 8-month-old daughter Harlow at the Beverly Hills Hotel’s Polo Lounge. The new mom, who sported a red floral-printed shirt and jean shorts and wore her hair partially pulled back, dined with an unidentified older woman and nibbled on the McCarthy chopped salad between playing with her little girl. She and her companion smiled and cooed over Harlow throughout their meal.

• Owen Wilson, making a late-night pit stop at one of his favorite haunts, Venice, Calif., bar The Other Room. Dressed casually in jeans, a T-shirt and a dark flannel button-down, he made his way to the back of the very crowded venue and laughed with a male friend over a drink at the bar. Wilson welcomed several fans who stopped by to say hello before leaving inconspicuously after only 20 minutes. A couple of days later, the actor had dinner with two male friends at trendy Venice eatery Gjelina, where they talked quietly at one of the restaurant’s communal tables.

• Lauren Conrad, holding hands with boyfriend Kyle Howard at a 30th birthday bash for club promoter Jean Paul Rodriguez at Teddy’s at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. The Hills star and her man stole kisses in the privacy of their booth and were inseparable during the party. Also making the scene: Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who danced to Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl”, Frankie Delgado, Jesse McCartney and Kevin Connolly.

• Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder took over a dark corner of VIP-only Bar 1200 at the Sunset Marquis Hotel and Villas in West Hollywood. Reeves, dressed in jeans and a black blazer, and Ryder, wearing a black T-shirt and pants, sipped cocktails as they talked seriously. The actress, whose shoes were off, sat catty-corner from her former Dracula costar, who listened intently to her as he chain-smoked. As the night went on, the pair inched closer and closer to each other so that they ended up sitting side by side. They stayed until closing and then headed out together.

Hilary Duff is adding yet another credit to her movie career.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Duff has joined the cast of the comedy Stay Cool. The movie, which shoots in July, also stars Winona Ryder, Sean Astin, Mark Polish, Chevy Chase and Jon Cryer.

The tween star will portray a sexy high school senior who invites an older visiting author to her prom. Most recently, she appeared in War, Inc. opposite John Cusack.

Winona Ryder is about to get the Star Trek treatment - and guaranteed future work at sci-fi conventions.

The actress has been cast to play the Vulcan mother of young Spock in the upcoming Star Trek film, directed by JJ Abrams for Paramount Pictures, Variety reports.

Ryder has two other movies to look forward to next year: the recently completed The Informers and the soon-to-be-filmed Private Lives of Pippa Lee.

With her career getting back on track after several years of self-imposed exile, Winona Ryder is talking for the first time about her December 2001 arrest after she’d been videotaped trying to make off with merchandise from the Beverly Hills Saks Fifth Avenue.

“I didn’t have this tremendous sense of guilt, because I hadn’t hurt anyone,” Ryder tells Vogue magazine for its August cover story. “Had I physically harmed someone or caused harm to a human being, I think it would have been an entirely different experience.”

Her personal reaction, she says, was “I never said a word. I didn’t release a statement. I didn’t do anything. I just waited for it to be over.”

Still, she says, “The attention was what was embarrassing.” She also expresses dismay that one day the news of her arrest topped stories on the supposed capture of Osama bin Laden.

Ryder - who was convicted of grand theft - explains that life had been bumpy for her just before the arrest. “Two months prior to that, I broke my arm in two places, and the doctor, a sort of quack doctor, was giving me a lot of stuff and I was taking it at first to get through the pain. And then there was this weird point when you don’t know if you are in pain but you’re taking it.”

She said painkillers of the type she was on - such as Oxycodone, which should not be confused with OxyContin - left her in a state of “confusion,” but that her arrest “in a very weird way, was a blessing, because I couldn’t do that %26#91;painkillers%26#93; anymore.”

Once her court issues were resolved, Ryder moved to San Francisco to live near her parents (she also has a house in West L.A.), and made “a very conscious decision not to work,” she says.

Her family was supportive. “No one ever got angry with me. Concerned, yes, but not concerned with a drug problem or anything. Because after that night I pretty much didn’t ever. … If you are ever arrested, you can’t ever do that again,” she says.

Ryder has returned to work with three new movies due out this year, including The Ten, Sex and Death 101 and The Last Word.

Though single, Ryder would like to have children. “I think I assumed I would be married and have a kid by the age I am now,” says the 35-year-old. “It kind of occurred to me for the first time last year: I actually want to go on and have kids.”

And while her past boyfriends have included such famous men as Matt Damon, Dave Pirner of Soul Asylum and Johnny Depp, Ryder says she’s still looking for the right man for her. “You know how people ask, ‘Who is the love of your life?’ God, I hope I haven’t met that person yet, in a way, because I’m single,” she says. “I hope I haven’t had that, since that would be sad.”

Winona Ryder, still on probation for felony shoplifting, had her charges reduced to misdemeanors on Friday, as a judge praised her progress and eased restrictions against her so she may resume her film career.

Beverly Hills Superior Court Judge Elden S. Fox noted that the Girl, Interrupted actress had completed her court-ordered 480 hours of community service at the City of Hope, a charitable Southern California hospital facility.

The jurist then announced that because Ryder, 32, had demonstrated that she was a good citizen who abided by the rules, he was reducing the original theft charges against her to misdemeanors and placing her on unsupervised probation through December 2005.

“He doesn’t want to do anything to damage her career,” Ryder’s attorney, Shepard Kopp (of the Law Offices of Geragos and Geragos), said outside court, according to wire reports.

Kopp said he expects that at some point all the newly reduced charges will be completely expunged from Ryder’s record.

A smiling Ryder - wearing a black suit over a white blouse with her light brown hair pulled back into a bun - entered the courtroom at 9 a.m. She later thanked the judge and the prosecutor but didn’t to speak to reporters.

Ryder, who has been under supervision by a fulltime probation officer, has just finished shooting the futuristic A Scanner Darkly, which also stars Keanu Reeves and Robert Downey Jr.

Last Nov. 6, Ryder was convicted of grand theft and felony vandalism for a shoplifting escapade at Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills on Dec.12, 2001. (The jury acquitted her of another charge, commercial burglary.)

Judge Fox initially sentenced Ryder to three years’ probation, 480 hours community service and a court-prescribed counseling program. He also ordered her to pay more than $10,000 in restitution and fines.

A Beverly Hills judge commended Winona Ryder on Monday for sticking to the rules of her probation in her shoplifting case, say reports.

Ryder’s lawyer, Shepard Kopp, told reporters outside court that the judge plans to review the case and consider reducing her felony convictions to misdemeanors.

“This is a very positive report in regard to Miss Ryder,” Beverly Hills Superior Court Judge Eldon Fox said during a brief hearing, according to Reuters.

The jurist spoke directly to the 32-year-old “Girl, Interrupted” star, who was ordered last December to complete 480 hours of community service (which she has been doing dutifully at the City of Hope Medical Center in Duarte) and attend counseling as part of her three years of probation.

“I want to compliment you on your behavior on probation,” Fox told the actress, who did not speak during the hearing, except to say “Thank you.”

He said her probation report had been very positive. “And there’s an indication that things are going well,” he said.

Fox ordered Ryder to return to court May 26 for a six-month review and said he would decide then if she needs continued probation supervision, says the Associated Press.

Ryder was convicted last November of grand theft and vandalism for walking out of the Beverly Hills branch of the Saks Fifth Avenue department store with shopping bags crammed full of $5,500 in designer tops, handbags, glittery rhinestone hair bows and socks.

The judge placed her on three years’ probation and fined her $2,700. She also was ordered to pay $6,355 in restitution to the store and $1,000 in restitution to the court. She has made those payments.
